Abstract:
A method of controlling coffee density exiting from a coffee densifier is disclosed. The method includes the steps of feeding a ground coffee into a mixing chamber having a discharge door. A mixer motor load on a mixer motor driving mixing members agitating the ground coffee in the mixing chamber is measured. The discharge door is moved when the mixer motor load is outside a predefined mixer motor load operating range.
Abstract:
A method for treating a mixture in a single-shaft or multi-shaft mixer (M), especially a kneader-mixer, especially for preparing a spinning solution. A solvent or solvent mixture is added to the product over the length of a product chamber in order to reduce a viscosity of the solvent or of the mixture and to increase an evaporative capacity. The viscosity of the solution or of the mixture is determined and/or modified in predetermined locations in the product chamber.
Abstract:
A system including an electrically-driven mixing device for mixing a water or solvent-based coating is provided. The mixing device includes a supply container, a rotary agitator shaft and an agitator disposed within the container and coupled to the agitator shaft to rotate therewith. The agitator mixes a coating contained within the container upon rotation of the agitator shaft. The solvent-based coating creates a flammable vapor environment around the container wherein a source of ignition is capable of igniting flammable vapors in the environment. A drive mechanism includes an electric motor having a rotary output shaft disposed outside of the environment and a mechanical power transmission coupled to the output shaft of the motor and to the agitator shaft of the device to transfer torque from the output shaft to the agitator shaft to mix any coating in the container.
Abstract:
A laboratory reactor (1) with a reaction vessel (2) for receiving media or substances to be processed has devices or units for processing or mixing media or components and for measuring, the devices or units being able to engage in the reaction vessel or reactor vessel (2) from above or below. On the lower side of the base (5), the laboratory reactor (1) has placement feet (6) which are mounted movably or flexibly and are connected to a weight measuring device or to sensors belonging to a weight-measuring device such that the weight of the product to be processed or a change in weight can be determined without complicated additional weighing operations.
Abstract:
A mixer sensing assembly of a mixer for mixing a wellsite fluid in a tank at a wellsite is provided. The mixer includes a shaft driven by a driver and a paddle operatively connectable to the shaft and rotatable therewith. The sensor assembly includes a mount operatively connectable to the shaft, a fluid interface, and a mixing sensor. The fluid interface is responsive to flow of the wellsite fluid passing thereby, and is connectable to the mount. The mixing sensor is connectable to the mount, the fluid interface, and/or the shaft to measure a strain applied to the thereto whereby fluid parameters of the wellsite fluid may be determined. The wellsite fluid may be mixed moving the components in the tank with the mixer, and measuring a strain on the mixer by detecting movement of the sensor assembly.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is disclosed for maintaining fluid in suspension in a mixing tank including particles includes providing a reversible mixer, rotating the mixer in a normal direction in which particles buildup on the mixer, and, rotating the mixer in an abnormal direction to shed the particles from the mixer.
Abstract:
When kneading kneading materials that include raw rubber and carbon black in a closed-type rubber kneader, the extent of the kneading efficiency of the closed-type rubber kneader is evaluated in accordance with the magnitude of the evaluation index calculated from unit work/total amount of shear by calculating an evaluation index calculated by a calculation device based on a total amount of shear obtained by integrating the shear velocity applied to the kneading materials by a rotor that is being driven to rotate by the rotor drive unit of the kneader over the kneading time, and a unit work obtained by dividing the integrated power obtained by integrating the instantaneous power of the rotor drive unit over the kneading time by the mass of the kneading materials.
Abstract:
An ice-cream maker comprising: a body having a rotatable paddle; a cooling chamber supported by the body for receiving an ice-cream mixture, the paddle being adapted to move through the ice-cream mixture; a sensor module for detecting a hardness measure of the ice-cream mixture; a processor module coupled to the sensor module for receiving a signal indicative of the hardness measure, the processor module being adapted to control the operation of the paddle. After the ice-cream mixture has reached a selected hardness, the processor module periodically operates paddle to churn the mixture to substantially maintain the mixture at the selected hardness. Before introduction of the mixture, the processor module can operate a cooling element to pre-cool the cooling chamber.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for operating a stirring mechanism for a container which is filled with a medium, wherein a value for the rotation speed of the stirring mechanism, which is predetermined for operating the stirring mechanism with a low level of energy consumption and stored in a memory, is set by an actuation and evaluation device such that reduced energy consumption by the stirring mechanism is achieved while at the same time the medium is thoroughly mixed.
Abstract:
In acquiring and managing measurement data relating to operating parameters of a dissolution tester, operating parameters are measured by operating one or more sensors. The measured operating parameters are transmitted from the sensors to a user computing device. It is then determined whether the measured operating parameters are in compliance or non-compliance with one or more standards, by comparing the measured operating parameters with a plurality of corresponding predefined values. The measured operating parameters and indications of compliance or non-compliance of each measured operating parameter are stored as a data record in a memory local or remote to the user computing device. The data record may be accessible by a computing device remote from the memory. The operating parameters may include, for example, shaft parameters.
