Abstract:
A winter tyre is described having a tread band wherein a plurality of blocks configured to obtain optimal performance both on snow-covered roads and on dry and wet roads in specific conditions of use (in particular during acceleration, braking or cornering with high power vehicles). Each of the aforementioned blocks has at least one sipe that defines two adjacent block portions in the respective block, each block portion having a respective surface facing the sipe. The surface has a radially outer portion having a profile which is substantially undulating, a radially inner portion also having a profile which is substantially undulating and an intermediate portion arranged between the radially outer portion and the radially inner portion and having a profile which is substantially rectilinear.

A pneumatic tire includes a tread portion provided with a circumferentially extending zigzag shoulder main groove arranged proximate to a tread edge, and a plurality of shoulder lateral grooves each extending axially outwardly from the shoulder main groove. Each of the shoulder lateral grooves includes a first portion and second portion. The first portion includes a first groove wall and an axially inner end connected to the shoulder main groove. The second portion is arranged axially outward of the first portion and includes a second groove wall. The second portion has a groove width and a groove depth greater than those of the first portion. The first groove wall of the first portion and the second groove wall of the second portion are smoothly continued.
Abstract:
A heavy duty tire includes a tread portion with a pair of circumferentially extending crown main grooves and a pair of circumferentially extending shoulder main grooves to form a crown land portion, a pair of middle land portions and a pair of shoulder land portions, wherein crown main grooves have groove widths of 2-5% of a tread half width, shoulder main grooves have groove widths of 6-9% of the tread half width, crown lateral grooves are provided on the crown land portion to form a plurality of crown blocks, middle lateral grooves are provided on middle land portions, shoulder lateral grooves are provided on shoulder land portions, crown and middle lateral grooves have groove widths of 0.4-2.0 mm, and shoulder lateral grooves have groove widths of 6-9% of the tread half width.
Abstract:
In the pneumatic tire, the blocks above the circumferential reinforcing layer have at least one sipe. Also, the sipe has a bent shape, in a plan view, with two flex points P1, P2, and has a closed structure with two end points Q1, Q2 terminating within the block. Also, the angle α between the line that connects the flex points P1, P2 and the tire circumferential direction is within the range such that 0°≦α≦10°. Also, the angle β1 between the line connecting the flex point P1 and the end point Q1 and the tire circumferential direction, and the angle β2 between the line connecting the flex point P2 and the end point Q2 and the tire circumferential direction are within the range such that 35°≦β1≦55° and 35°≦β2≦55°.
Abstract:
A tread profile of a vehicle tire has profile positives such as profile blocks or tread bands that have sipes. The sipes have an approximately Ω-shaped geometry in plan view having two axial sections which are arranged approximately in an axial direction and which are arranged on a common, imaginary straight line with a spacing (a) to one another; a central bulge arranged between the axial sections, wherein the bulge has a maximum extent (b) measured in the axial direction; and, wherein a

A pneumatic tire comprises a tread portion provided with blocks each provided with a first variable depth sipe and a second variable depth sipe each having both axial ends opened at edges of the block on both sides thereof in the tire axial direction. In each block, a shallow portion of the first variable depth sipe overlaps, in the tire axial direction, with a deep main portion of the second variable depth sipe. an axial groove dividing the blocks is provided with a tie bar overlapping, in the tire axial direction, with the deep main portion of the adjacent variable depth sipe.

Abstract:
This pneumatic tire has a plurality of rib grooves (510) that extend in the direction of tread width formed in the tire peripheral direction (DC), and is provided with shoulder land sections (500) demarcated by the rib grooves (510). A plurality of hook-shaped sipes (600) are formed at the shoulder land sections (500). The hook-shaped sipes (600) have: a peripheral direction sipe section (610) extending along the tire peripheral direction; and a hook-shaped sipe section (620) that is continuous with the peripheral direction sipe section (610) and extends along the direction of tread width. A line (L1) of extension along the hook-shaped sipe sections (620) intersects the line (L2) of extension of the rib grooves (510).
Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire which can fundamentally prevent the phenomenon in which cracks are generated in the bottoms of grooves and the areas where the side walls of blocks meet the bottoms of grooves, can suppress irregular abrasion of the tread, can enhance the overall rigidity of the tread, and can also enhance the drainage performance. The pneumatic tire of the invention includes a tread, side walls and bead sections, with a large number of blocks compartmentalized by grooves being formed on the surface of the tread, and also includes reinforcing ribs that are positioned inside a groove and have their lower parts joined with the bottom of the groove, with one lateral surface of a reinforcing rib and one side wall of the groove being in contact.
Abstract:
A tire with certain tread features and a method for manufacturing the tread for such a tire are provided. More particularly, a tire and method for manufacturing a tire having a tread portion with sipes that can be of minimal thickness and varying geometries, densities, and profiles may be provided. The sipes can also be hidden until after a period of tread wear has occurred.
