    摘要: A cooling system sub-assembly for use in a motor vehicle comprising a charge air cooler mounted to a support structure attached to a chassis of the motor vehicle and a condenser mounted to the charge air cooler so as to accommodate at least differential thermal growth between the condenser and the charge air cooler and so as to dispose the condenser in series flow relationship with the charge air cooler. A first lateral end of the condenser is fixed relative to the charge air cooler, while a pair of generally horizontally extending pins are connected to the other lateral end of the condenser and slidingly engage compressible grommet assemblies disposed within holes formed in each of a pair of vertically spaced mount brackets attached to the charge air cooler. Alternatively, a pair of vertically spaced mount flanges may be cast as an integral unit with one of the end manifolds of the charge air cooler, with each of the flanges receiving one of the condenser pins.

    摘要: The invention concerns a condenser for a refrigeration circuit through which a refrigerating fluid passes. The condenser comprises an array of tubes mounted between two header tanks and a reservoir connected to the condenser, the array comprising an upstream part for condensing the refrigerating fluid, and a downstream part for supercooling the condensed refrigerating fluid, all the condensed refrigerating fluid coming from the upstream part of the array being introduced into the downstream part, and the reservoir being connected to the outlet of the downstream part. The invention is particularly applicable to air-conditioning installations for automobiles.

    摘要: The condenser is mounted in front of radiator by means of a mounting shroud, which includes a tubular portion for covering over an outer periphery of the condenser, a pair of vertical mounting walls provided on an inner periphery of the tubular portion, and a pair of mounting leg portions formed on an outer periphery of the tubular portion. The vertical mounting walls are securely fastened to upper and lower brackets of the condenser in a condition wherein the former contact with the latter, and the lower mounting leg portions are fitted in engaging recesses of a lower tank of the radiator while the upper mounting leg portions are securely fastened to an upper tank of the radiator. The tubular portion of the mounting shroud serves also as a wind introducing duct which prevents heated air having passed the radiator from coming around to the front of the condenser again.

    摘要: A heat exchanger includes a plurality of integrally assembled heat-exchanger cores each comprising a pair of header pipes, a plurality of flat heat-transfer tubes and a plurality of fins. A heat medium flows from an inlet tube connected to one of the header pipes to an outlet tube connected to another one of the header pipes through the plurality of heat-exchanger cores communicating with one another. The heat-transfer area of the heat exchanger can be increased without increasing the diameters of its header pipes, to thereby increase the total heat-exchange ability of the heat exchanger.

    摘要: Each of a pair of heat exchangers, such as a radiator and a condenser, includes a tubular structure defining a fluid flow path between an inlet manifold and an outlet manifold. The heat exchangers reside in juxtaposition for a unit with the respective fluid flow paths being congruently aligned along the axis of a stream of cooling medium passing therethrough. The heat exchangers are sealingly encased within a shroud for directing the stream of cooling medium through the tubular structures. The shroud, which is alternately usable with a conventional radiator, and the heat exchanger units are installed in a motor vehicle as a pre-fabricated modular cooling unit.
