摘要: In a texture curing machine for the subsequent treatment of freshly produced concrete layers of a predetermined width, in particular concrete roadways extending longitudinally in the direction of travel, comprising a machine frame supported by ground-engaging units, with no less than one texturing device movable transverse to the working direction for applying a texture, by means of multiple texturing tools, into the not yet hardened surface of the concrete layer, and with a controller unit for adjusting the travelling speed in the direction of travel, it is provided for the following features to be achieved: the controller unit captures the travelling speed and/or the traversing speed of the texturing device and, during forward or reverse travel, controls the travelling speed and/or the traversing speed of the texturing device in transverse direction in accordance with a specified texturing angle, with the texturing angle ensuing from the relation of the speeds.

摘要: A system and apparatus for cutting grooves in a surface includes a housing having a rotatable cutting head mounted therein. An actuator drives the cutting head out of and into contact with the surface. Sensors disposed on the housing sense a depth of the groove cut by the cutting head. A controller is arranged to receive a signal from the sensors and compare the depth of the groove with a predetermined reference depth. The controller sends a signal to the actuator and adjusts the position of the cutting head via the actuator to maintain the depth of the groove at about the reference depth.

摘要: A sealcoat system for providing a sealcoat that is free of silica. The sealcoat system generally includes providing a sealer, crushed glass, water and an additive, mixing the sealer together with the crushed glass, water and additive to form a sealcoat composition, and applying the sealcoat composition to a road. The crushed glass is preferably comprised of soda-lime glass and is further preferably comprised of container glass used in the production of bottles and jars.

摘要: Techniques for protecting joints in pavement structures are disclosed. Such a technique includes applying a hardener/densifier to one or more surfaces that define a joint in a pavement structure and, optionally, to portions of one or more surfaces that are located adjacent to the joint. One or more other compounds, such as hydrophobic materials, water-resistant materials, anti-scaling compounds, anti-wear compounds, multi-functional blended compositions and the like, may also be applied to the surfaces that define a joint and/or to portions of one or more surfaces that are adjacent to the joint. A seal may also be formed in a joint in a pavement structure. Joints that have been protected in accordance with teachings of this disclosure are also disclosed.

摘要: In a method for delivering a warning of a hazardous road surface state for application in a travelling motor vehicle in which the air temperature is measured, a targeted prediction of the road surface state is to be made so that the output of a warning can be avoided in many cases in which such a warning was not objectively justified. This is achieved by means of a contactless measurement method by which means the moisture of the road surface is determined and by means of which the temperature of the road surface is determined where a value describing the road surface state is determined taking into account these three measured values. The warning is then delivered depending on the value describing the road surface state.
