摘要： A light source device including a light emitting element emits a luminous flux, which is converged by a reflecting mirror. A conical light-refracting element receives the luminous flux converged by the reflecting mirror and changes the cone angle of the luminous flux. The luminous flux exiting the conical light-refracting element is diffused by a holographic diffuser and is then converged by at least one lens. The reflecting mirror may have an elliptic curvature or a parabolic curvature. The light source device is also used to form a projector for a projection type display apparatus. In the projector, the luminous flux emitted from the light source device may be separated by color separators into a plurality of colors of light. Then, each color of light is directed to the corresponding one of a plurality of light valves. Then, a color synthesizer synthesizes the colors of light emitted from the light valves into a composite image which in turn is projected onto a screen. A plurality of such projectors are used to construct a multiscreen projection type display system where each of the projectors projects a corresponding image. At least one reflecting mirror for bending a corresponding one of the images is included in the multiscreen projection type display system. The reflecting mirror projects the image onto a screen so that the images emitted from the plurality of projectors are combined into a composite image on the screen.

摘要： The headlight has a gas discharge lamp and a reflector. The reflector has an upper reflector region and a lower reflector region. A lens is arranged after the reflector in a light outlet direction, and a screen device is provided between the reflector and the lens. A movable screen member of the screen device is adjustable between a position for low beam in which it screens light reflected from the lower reflector region and produces a bright-dark limit, and a position for high beam in which light reflected from the lower reflector region passes past the screen member and can exit the headlight. Moreover, the movable screen member in its position for low beam is adjustable between a position for right traffic and a position for left traffic. Therefore the head light can be used in a simple manner as a high beam head light and a low beam head light, and also can be converted for the utilization for right traffic and left traffic.

摘要： Two embodiments for an illumination system are described as a lighting system for computer keyboards and copy text holders and any related printed materials. The first embodiment, a novel keyboard lighting fixture, which is the principal device and includes a base for securing to the underside of keyboards or directly onto a work station, fixed or movable, thereby stabilizing the light fixture to allow pivoting of the housing. The pivoting of the housing to a desired operational position energizes the system which is powered by a plug-in transformer. The second embodiment, the copy text illuminator, is half the size of the keyboard light and is powered by a cord that connects the two light fixtures, making it an auxiliary fixture, to the keyboard light. The cord allows total flexibility and the employment of Velcro pads on each end together with a Velcro strap, enables placement of this light fixture on horizontal or vertical work surfaces. The auxiliary light fixture is powered via the keyboard light or via a stand-alone transformer. The keyboard light and the auxiliary fixture are mounted so that light emitted is directed only onto the keyboard or the copy text holder.

Since a projector type head light according to the invention comprises an elliptic reflector which is divided into upper and lower halves and the upper reflecting surface is defined to be found within an orthogonal projection area that allows irradiation of the orthogonal front such that reflected rays of light from the lateral sections of said upper reflecting surface are converged to the center of the light distribution pattern and those from the remaining sections are dispersed laterally, the light distribution pattern has a low profile central area while the overall contour of the light distribution pattern shows a high profile and a substantially even intensity of light over the entire area so that the orthogonal immediate front of the projector type head light is not particularly intensely lighted and the curbs and the sidewalks can be lighted with a sufficient intensity of light to remarkably improve the performance of projector type head light.

A longitudinal LED carrier that is formed of a PCB and has a plurality of openings is electrically coupled to the switch cap. A plurality of LEDs are mounted to the openings of the LED carrier respectively to be selectively applied with electric power of the batteries in accordance with a switching motion of the switch. A reflector and a flashing bulb are held on the holding protrusion of the LED carrier. The bulb is selectively applied with electric power of the batteries in accordance with the switching motion of the switch. A color reflecting tube surrounds the LED carrier. An external tube surrounds the color reflecting tube. A transparent cap is fitted over a top of the external tube to protect both the reflector and the bulb.

The shade 20 is formed of a tubular member having a step 23 for forming preset light beam distribution patterns. The step 23 spirally extends on the circumferential outer surface of the tubular member in the axial direction. The shade 20 is rotatable about the horizontal shaft 24 of the reflector 14. With the rotation of the shade 20, a step position of the distribution pattern horizontally slides.

A light projecting unit including a substantially ellipsoidal mirror in which a light source is fitted, and a projecting lens arranged in front of the light source for converting the output light beam of the light source reflected from the mirror into a substantially parallel light beam advancing forwardly of the headlamp are mounted in a lamp chamber formed by a lamp body and a front lens, the latter being an inclined lens the lens surface of which is inclined strongly rearward. A cover coated with a light reflecting film surrounds the front portion of the light projecting unit, the cover having a lower edge portion extending forward into a front extension. A light diffusing region is formed at least in the front end portion of the front extension of the cover.
