摘要: A breathing air production and filtration system has an air generation assembly and a distribution assembly. The generation assembly has a compressor and filtration components to generate breathing air. The distribution assembly has collection pots with multiple connections for manifolds. For their part, the manifolds have multiple connectors for the respirators of end users. The system uses a monitoring control system with various wireless sensors to monitor operation of the system and the quality of breathing air produced. These sensors include an in-line sensor detecting constituents or contaminants in the breathing air. The sensors also include pressure, temperature, and flow sensors monitoring the operation of the system. An automatic switchover is provided for switching the system to a back-up supply of high-pressure reserve air if needed.

摘要: Described here are devices for altering the flow of air in a respiratory cavity such as the mouth and nostrils of the nose. These methods and devices may be useful for affecting a physiologic benefit in patients suffering from a variety of medical diseases, particularly those that may benefit from “pursed-lip” breathing and non-invasive ventilation, such as COPD, heart failure, sleep apnea, and other medical disorders. The devices are typically removable devices that may be placed over or in a respiratory cavity to increase resistance to airflow within the respiratory cavity. Resistance to expiration may be selectively increased relative to inspiration. Removable oral and removable nasal devices are described. Oral and nasal devices that filter inhaled airflow of debris and allergens are also provided. A nasal device that increases patency of the nares is also provided.

摘要: A breathing system with a facepiece that includes a first port adapted to be placed in fluid connection with the outlet of a regulator assembly to introduce pressurized breathing gas into the facepiece; a second port adapted to be connected to an air purifying system; and an exhaust valve through which the user's exhausted breath can exit the facepiece. The breathing system also includes a pressure adjustment mechanism that includes a communication link in communicative connection with an actuator such that the exhaust pressure adjustment mechanism sets the internal facepiece pressure required to open the exhaust valve, independently of the respiration of the user, to a first pressure when the actuator is in the first state, to a second pressure when the actuator is in the second state. The first pressure is higher than the second pressure.

摘要: A method for controlling a respiratory gas monitor device, which includes at least one respiratory gas analyzer, a gas sampling line, a gas pump for sucking sample(s) of respiratory gas from the gas sampling line. Also included are a power supply and a processing unit, and a pressure sensor connected to the gas sampling line and electrically connected to the processing unit. A minimum value and a maximum value in a signal from the patient are detected by the processing unit, and a difference between the minimum value and the maximum value is calculated. The value of this difference is compared with a predetermined threshold value. If the calculated difference is below the threshold value, the pump is switched off or kept non-operating by the processing unit. If the calculated difference is over the threshold value, the pump is switched on or kept operating by the processing unit.

摘要: A conjoined tube within a tube located inside a lower section of a snorkel designed to steer water droplets away from the snorkel diver's breathing path. The lower section of the snorkel has two valves. One is the scupper valve positioned at the lowest point of the inside tube. The scupper valve is a light duty valve or a low resistance one-way watertight passage intended to allow droplets of water to drain into the main reservoir. The outer tube lower section contains a reservoir for holding residual water that travels down to the bottom of the snorkel and is contained therein. During the normal clearing operation, the reservoir can be emptied and water will exit out of the lower section and into the surrounding water.

摘要: The invention is a ventilator whose servo-controller adjusts the degree of support by adjusting the profile of the pressure waveform as well as the pressure modulation amplitude. As the servo-controller increases the degree of support by increasing the pressure modulation amplitude, it also generates a progressively more square, and therefore efficient, pressure waveform; when the servo-controller decreases the degree of support by decreasing the pressure modulation amplitude, it also generates a progressively more smooth and therefore comfortable pressure waveform.

摘要: A breathing circuit includes inspiratory and expiratory limbs, each having a respective electrically energizable heating circuit. The heating circuits are independently and selectively electrically energized through separate power circuits such as to control the temperature in each limb in a desired fashion so as to reduce rainout in the breathing circuit and particularly in the expiratory limb.
