Abstract:
Methods and systems for enabling an advertiser to utilize device-to-device interactions to track word-of-mouth advertising and to take advantage of differentiated pricing schemes based on a quantity of an item are provided. An advertisement is received on a first device, and the first device identifies a second device that is receptive to interaction. The first device interacts with the second device. Concurrently with the interaction, an advertisement identifier associated with the advertisement is communicated from the first device to the second device. The advertisement identifier enables the second device to receive the advertisement.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for extracting feature points from an image in a multiprocessor system having a plurality of processors, the method including: dividing an original image into a plurality of regions so as to be allocated to a plurality of processors of the multiprocessor system; performing, by the plurality of processors, blurring operations by levels; dividing the images blurred by levels into a plurality of regions to be allocated to the processors and calculating, by the plurality of processors, differences of Gaussian (DoGs); and generating feature point data according to the calculated DoGs. Because a plurality of processors performs the operations of the method, the total time to extract the feature points from the image is significantly reduced.
Abstract:
Nonvolatile memory devices and related methods of manufacturing the same are provided. A nonvolatile memory device includes a tunneling layer on a substrate, a floating gate on the tunneling layer, an inter-gate dielectric layer structure on the floating gate, and a control gate on the inter-gate dielectric layer structure. The inter-gate dielectric layer structure includes a first silicon oxide layer, a high dielectric layer on the first silicon oxide layer, and a second silicon oxide layer on the high dielectric layer opposite to the first silicon oxide layer The high dielectric layer may include first and second high dielectric layers laminated on each other, and the first high dielectric layer may have a lower density of electron trap sites than the second high dielectric layer and may have a larger energy band gap or conduction band-offset than the second high dielectric layer.
Abstract:
Provided are an optical film for use in flat panel display (FPD) devices, and a method for manufacturing the same. Particularly, there is provided a method for imparting surface roughness to an optical film, which includes forming dented craters having a radius of curvature of 10 nm-100 μm on the surface of an optical film obtained by a solution casting process and forming a plateau between one crater and another crater. There is also provided an optical film obtained by the same method.
Abstract:
Provided is an eco-friendly rotogravure hot melt ink composition. More specifically, the present invention provides the rotogravure hot melt ink composition meeting requirements of a carbon footprint system by using, as a vehicle, poly propylene carbonate prepared using carbon dioxide as a raw material. The rotogravure hot melt ink prepared by the composition of the present invention has a higher printing density and more easily performs printing at low temperature than a poly vinyl acetate based hot melt ink according to the related art.
Abstract:
A method, computer readable media, and computer system for generating advertisement messages are provided. The computer system includes an advertisement engine and an advanced interactive platform that receive user events. The advanced interactive platform selects response templates associated with user events received from a user. In turn, the advanced interactive platform transmits the response templates to the advertisement engine. The advertisement engine processes the response template and populates the response template with advertising hints to dynamically generate advertisement messages. The advertisement engine may include indicators that solicit user feedback in the advertisement message. The user feedback received by the advanced interactive platform triggers additional user events that are used to generate additional advertisements and to discover interests of the user.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a technique for controlling creep torque to prevent a vehicle from rolling backward on an upward slope. In particular, a gradient of a road is calculated in real time from a detection value of a sensor and vehicle acceleration. A maximum creep torque for preventing roll-back caused by gravity according to the gradient is calculated using the gradient and vehicle information. A first creep torque reference is calculated based on the maximum creep torque and the vehicle speed. A second creep torque reference is calculated based on the maximum creep torque and the vehicle acceleration. A torque command value according to an operation state of a brake is calculated based on the first creep torque reference value and the second creep torque reference value and the gradient. In response, a torque output of a driving motor is controlled according to the calculated torque command value.
Abstract:
Advertising targeting metrics for individuals can be derived from images associated with those individuals. Such advertising targeting metrics can include physical attributes, as well as preferences based on prior activity, or history. Public images associated with specific user identities can be processed and advertising targeting metrics can be derived therefrom to more accurately tailor the advertisements displayed to the individuals associated with those user identities. Additionally, non-public images can be likewise processed, either remotely or, for greater privacy, locally if so allowed by the user. Advertisers can then utilize the greater breath of advertising targeting metrics that can be derived from images to more accurately target advertisements to specific groups. In doing so, advertisers can submit their own images of exemplary targeted users, and the targeting metrics for those advertisers' advertisements can be automatically derived from the submitted images utilizing equivalent algorithms.
Abstract:
Provided is a gain-clamped (GC) optical amplifier using a fiber Raman amplifier (FRA) having a Raman cavity. The FRA having a Raman cavity comprises a Raman fiber module (RFM) amplifying and outputting an input optical signal and a resonant cavity generating a Raman laser and a gain clamping laser (GC laser), wherein the resonant cavity is formed as a feedback loop between an input terminal and an output terminal of the RFM. Accordingly, a gain of an optical signal propagating along a core of RFM keeps a constant value regardless of input signal intensity by generating the GC laser for gain clamping between a wavelength band of the Raman laser and a gain band of input signals.
