    Abstract: Disclosed are compositions comprising antioxidants and stabilizers, such as, acid scavengers or organic phosphorus stabilizers, and optionally further comprising co-stabilizers. The disclosed compositions are useful as stabilizers for polyolefins and other polymeric materials. The disclosed compositions and methods generally provide longer shelf lifes and better oxidative resistance to materials than currently available antioxidants.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for changing the bandwidth or other traffic characteristic of an established packet call in response to an identification of the requirements of the call. In one implementation, an integrated access device (“IAD”) is used to connect one or more devices to a packet network. When a device goes off-hook, a call is established through the packet network with an initial bandwidth, such as that which will support a compressed and silence suppressed voice call. The IAD monitors the received signal to determine whether a type of traffic is detected which requires a different call characterization. A request may be made to modify the traffic characterization of the established call to match the detected call characterization. In an ATM network, Q.9231.x may be used to request a change in the bandwidth of the originally established call.

    Abstract: Compounds are synthesized that contain nitrogen and hindered phenol functionalities of an aromatic amine and hindered phenol for use as oxidative stabilizers for organic materials, paints, lubricants, elastomers, and in other applications. The disclosed methods can efficiently synthesize target monomers and polymers without the use of expensive catalysts. Further, the disclosed methods can scale up to industrially useful quantities.     Abstract: A method and system for establishing a call between two endpoints residing on different media gateways in a decomposed voice over packet architecture. Cluster attributes identifying alternate bearer possibilities are exchanged between media gateways as part of capabilities negotiation which occurs during call setup conducted by an external call control element over a core network. The media gateways analyze the cluster attributes to determine whether bearer possibilities exist apart from the core network. If an alternate bearer possibility exists, the alternate is employed and the call is established via the alternate bearer directly between the media gateways, thus bypassing the core network.
