The invention provides improved plant transformation methods. In particular the method provides increased transformation frequency, especially in recalcitrant plants. The method includes various transformation protocols for monocots, such as maize and sorghum, using a combination of media and light conditions to achieve increased efficiency of monocot transformation and increased callus initiation frequencies.

The present invention provides a method and system for automatic objects classification. The method comprises: acquiring a set of objects; classifying the objects based on query log to generate a first classification result; classifying the objects based on ontological information to generate a second classification result; and semantically fusing the first and second classification results to generate a final classification result. According to the present invention, compared with the prior arts, by semantically fusing the query log-based classification result and the ontology-based classification result, the accuracy and user-friendness of the object classification can be improved.

An apparatus and related process are provided for vapor deposition of a sublimated source material as a doped thin film on a photovoltaic (PV) module substrate. A receptacle is disposed within a vacuum head chamber and is configured for receipt of a source material supplied from a first feed tube. A second feed tube can provide a dopant material into the deposition head. A heated distribution manifold is disposed below the receptacle and includes a plurality of passages defined therethrough. The receptacle is indirectly heated by the distribution manifold to a degree sufficient to sublimate source material within the receptacle. A distribution plate is disposed below the distribution manifold and at a defined distance above a horizontal plane of a substrate conveyed through the apparatus to further distribute the sublimated source material passing through the distribution manifold onto the upper surface of the underlying substrate.

A tunable inter-stage matching circuit that can improve performance is described. In an exemplary design, an apparatus includes a first active circuit (e.g., a driver amplifier), a second active circuit (e.g., a power amplifier), and a tunable inter-stage matching circuit coupled between the first and second active circuits. The tunable inter-stage matching circuit includes a tunable capacitor that can be varied in discrete steps to adjust impedance matching between the first and second active circuits. In an exemplary design, the tunable capacitor includes (i) a plurality of capacitors coupled in parallel and (ii) a plurality of switches coupled to the plurality of capacitors, one switch for each capacitor. Each switch may be turned on to select an associated capacitor or turned off to unselect the associated capacitor. The tunable capacitor may further include a fixed capacitor coupled in parallel with the plurality of capacitors.

Methods for producing a maize plant that comprise crossing double haploid maize line PHWWD with another maize plant. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into PHWWD through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby. Hybrid maize seed, plant or plant part produced by crossing the double haploid line PHWWD or a trait conversion of PHWWD with another maize line. Inbred maize lines derived from double haploid maize line PHWWD, methods for producing other inbred maize lines derived from double haploid maize line PHWWD and the inbred maize lines and their parts derived by the use of those methods.

Exemplary embodiments are directed to a transmitter with a power amplifier and a switched output matching circuit implementing a plurality of output paths for a plurality of operating modes is described. The power amplifier receives an input RF signal and provides an amplified RF signal. An output matching network performs impedance transformation from low impedance at the power amplifier output to higher impedance at the matching network output. The plurality of output paths are coupled to the output matching network. Each output path provides a different target output impedance for the power amplifier and routes the amplified RF signal from the power amplifier to an antenna when that output path is selected. Each output path may include a matching network coupled in series with a switch. The matching network provides the target output impedance for the power amplifier when the output path is selected. The switch couples or decouples the output path to/from the power amplifier.
