摘要:
A method for providing reduced pressure treatment to a tissue site is further provided according to an illustrative embodiment. The method includes applying a reduced pressure to the tissue site. The method collects exudate drawn from the tissue site in a liquid collection chamber and utilizes the collected exudate in the liquid collection chamber to generate electricity.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses are presented that facilitate the provision of reduced pressure to a tissue site by using a delivery-and-fluid-storage bridge, which separates liquids and gases and provides a flow path for reduced pressure. In one instance, a delivery-and-fluid-storage bridge includes a delivery manifold for delivering reduced pressure to a treatment manifold at the tissue site and an absorbent layer proximate the delivery manifold adapted to receive and absorb liquids. The delivery manifold and the absorbent layer are encapsulated in an encapsulating pouch. A first aperture is formed proximate a first longitudinal end of the delivery-and-fluid-storage bridge for fluidly communicating reduced pressure to the delivery manifold from a reduced-pressure source, and a second aperture is formed on a patient-facing side of the delivery-and-fluid-storage bridge. Reduced pressure is transferred to the tissue site via the second aperture. Other systems, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed.

Reduced-pressure medical dressings, systems, and methods involve a dressing with a first barrier layer that desolidifies when exposed to a fluid—typically a liquid—to form a treatment aperture in the first barrier that is used to deliver reduced pressure to a tissue site. The first barrier layer is formed from a desolidifying material. The system includes a drape covering a second surface of a manifold and a portion of the patient's epidermis to provide a substantially sealed space containing a manifold and the first barrier layer. Other systems, dressings, and methods are also disclosed.

A tissue treatment system including a processing unit executing software, an electronic display in communication with the processing unit, and a storage unit in communication with the processing unit. The software may be configured to cause the processing unit to manage a patient history database, treatment history database, and image history database. The processing unit may further be configured to enable a clinician to access and display information stored in any of the databases.

摘要:
A reduced-pressure treatment system for treating a tissue site of a patient, the system includes a manifold pad for disposing proximate the tissue site. The manilfold pad includes a hydrogel reservoir member and a manifold member. The hydrogel reservoir member is adapted to receive and store fluid from the tissue site at a first pressure and adapted to release at least a portion of the fluid at a second pressure. The first pressure is greater than the second pressure on an absolute pressure scale. The system also includes a sealing drape for placing over the tissue and manifold pad. The sealing drape forms a fluid seal over the tissue and manifold pad. A reduced-pressure subsystem delivers reduced pressure to the sealing drape. Other systems, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed.
摘要:
An apparatus for promoting granulation and epithelialization at a tissue site having a substantially gas impermeable, flexible mat. A plurality of projections extend from a surface of the substantially gas impermeable, flexible mat, and each projection has a first end connected to the surface and a second end opposing the first end. A flexible membrane is positioned adjacent the second end of at least a portion of the plurality of projections and the flexible membrane is sufficiently flexible to allow deformation of the flexible membrane by the at least the portion of the plurality of projections when a biasing force exerted on the substantially gas impermeable, flexible mat or the plurality of projections is greater than or equal to a threshold force.

Wound treatment systems and methods are presented that involve treating a wound, such as a burn wound, with an absorbent polymer that helps maintain a desired moisture level and that also involve an evaporative subsystem that removes excess liquid from the absorbent polymer. Other systems, methods, and dressings are presented herein.
摘要:
A reduced pressure tissue treatment system includes an applicator having an aperture, a first pad section, and a second pad section substantially covering the aperture and positioned substantially adjacent the first pad section. A fabric layer is located at least partially between the second pad section and the drape, and the fabric layer includes a woven or non-woven fabric made from a fiber material. A drape substantially covers the first pad section, the second pad section, the fabric layer, and the applicator. A reduced pressure source is in fluid communication with at least one of the first pad section and the fabric layer for providing reduced pressure to the aperture.
