摘要: Constant pressure internal combustion engine having an elongated combustion chamber which in some embodiments is folded back upon itself and has a rough, twisting interior side wall, a fuel inlet for introducing fuel into the chamber, a compression chamber in communication with the combustion chamber, means for varying the volume of the compression chamber and combustion chamber to form a mixture of fuel and air that burns as it travels through the chamber and is further mixed by the rough, twisting side wall of the chamber, an expansion chamber in communication with the combustion chamber, and an output member in the expansion chamber which is driven by pressure produced by the burning mixture, with the means for varying the volume of the compression chamber and the output member in the expansion chamber being connected together for movement in concert such that the pressure remains substantially constant within the combustion chamber. A gas flow separator near the fuel inlet forms a one or more smaller volumes within the combustion chamber where the fuel can mix and burn with only a portion of the air introduced into the chamber. Long, sharp protrusions extend inwardly from the wall of the combustion chamber and form hot spots which help to provide complete combustion of the fuel mixture throughout the combustion chamber, and these protrusions, together with flow turbulators within the chamber, promote complete mixing and, hence, combustion of the fuel and air.

摘要: A system and method for providing metadata interaction and visualization with task-related objects is described. A plurality of task-oriented items is defined. Each task-oriented item includes a storage component specifying metadata relating to at least one of planning, executing or completing a task. A visualization is provided to tie in the task-oriented items and associate modeling logic operating on at least one such task-oriented item. The visualization is displayed by highlighting at least one of interdependencies and conflicts between the metadata of the task-oriented items.

摘要: Robust classification methods analyse magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) data (spectra) of fine needle aspirates taken from breast tumours. The resultant data when compared with the histopathology and clinical criteria provide computerized classification-based diagnosis and prognosis with a very high degree of accuracy and reliability. Diagnostic correlation performed between the spectra and standard synoptic pathology findings contain detail regarding the pathology (malignant versus benign), vascular invasion by the primary cancer and lymph node involvement of the excised axillary lymph nodes. The classification strategy consisted of three stages: pre-processing of MR magnitude spectra to identify optimal spectral regions, cross-validated Linear Discriminant Analysis, and classification aggregation via Computerised Consensus Diagnosis. Malignant tissue was distinguished from benign lesions with an overall accuracy of 93%. From the same spectrum, lymph node involvement was predicted with an accuracy of 95% and tumour vascularisation with an overall accuracy of 92%.

摘要: A package for opto-electrical components, includes a casing having (1) a chamber and (2) at least one board or tile for carrying the opto-electrical components. The casing has an opening (shaped as a parallelogram) defining an optical feed-through path between the chamber and the outside of the casing. The casing includes ceramic material in the vicinity of the opening. An adapter associated with the opening has a substantially circular aperture to accept a fiber pigtail and/or a fiber optic connector.

摘要: Misalignment error between two periodic structures such as two overlay targets placed side-by-side is measured. The two structures are illuminated by coherent radiation and the positive and negative diffraction beams of the input beam by the two structures are detected to discover the optical phase difference between the positive and negative diffraction beams. The misalignment between the two structures may then be ascertained from the phase difference.
