The method further includes steps of: sequentially reciprocating each split mold in trains of split molds provided opposed to each other across the parison receiving position to and from a position opposed to the parison receiving position; and sequentially reciprocating the split mold disposed at the position where the split mold is opposed to the parsion receiving position to and from the parison receiving position for performing blow molding. There is also provided a blow molding apparatus for carrying out this molding method.

    摘要: A reduced flash molding process and apparatus useful for a variety of parts, especially flat plastic panels, reduces trimming time, regrind waste, increases production speeds, reduces energy consumption, and reduces part weight. The reduction in flash is made possible by providing side members which close before molding material reaches them. Flash still occurs at the ends of the mold, but is eliminated from the sides. Because the parison can be more carefully managed during molding, the mold can be placed closer to the parison extrusion die, thereby reducing parison swell and sag and permitting more accurate filling of all areas within the mold geometry.

Form an elastomer, a positioning rod is extended from the elastomer, the positioning rod supports and positions the elastomer in a mold. Trim the elastic pad along the pressed periphery which is formed by the mold closure on excessive plastic film.

    摘要: An apparatus for deflashing plastic blow molded articles is disclosed. The apparatus includes feed screw which engage one side of the container to move the container. A nesting wheel and a trim wheel are rotated in opposite directions to bring trim tools and nest tools together. The screw moves the container so that the nest tool engages the container and carries the container so that it is between the nest tool and trim tool as they intermesh. As a result, the container is nested, trimmed and released in one continuous motion.

    摘要: A flash removing apparatus is provided which has a pair of blades driven by an actuator through a linkage assembly, simultaneously and in opposite directions, between a bottle receiving position and a closed position to aid in removing flash from a plastic product disposed on the blades. Preferably, the blades can also be moved to a fully open position to permit a bottle to pass between the blades and increase manufacturing flexibility and efficiency of the apparatus. The linkage assembly has a center link rotatable about a fixed pivot and at least one link arm connected to the center link and operably connected to the actuator to unfold and fold the linkage assembly in response to movement of the actuator between its advanced and retracted positions. The folding and unfolding of the linkage assembly moves the blades between their open and closed positions in cycles to remove flash from consecutive plastic products.

    摘要: A take-out system for a shuttle-type blow moulding machine having two moulding assemblies has a single gripper head for taking out moulded articles from both moulding assemblies. The gripper head is carried by a vertical gripper arm which can be raised and lowered by a rack and pinion drive with respect to a carriage that moves in line with the two moulding assemblies. Electric servomotors are used to raise and lower the gripper head and move the carriage under software control so that the motion of the gripper head can be programmed to match a particular moulding machine. The articles may be moulded with tabs that can be gripped by the gripper head, and the take-out system may include a trimmer for removing those tabs, and a waste conveyor for the trimmed material.

    摘要: A head trimmer machine for cutting off excess material from a cylindrical portion of a blow molded bottle includes a fixture, a spindle rotatably mounted in the fixture, a cutting head attached to the spindle for rotation therewith, a cutter mounted to the cutting head, and a vacuum source for collecting the trimmed material by suction. The cutting head has a central passage so that it can fit down over the head of the blow molded bottle. The cutter is supported in the cutting head for movement between retracted and extended positions. In the extended position, the cutter extends into the central passage of the cutting head to cut the head or other excess material from the neck of the bottle as the cutting head turns. The spindle includes a central passage aligned with the central passage of the cutting head and the excess material is removed by being drawn through these passages by a gaseous flow created by the vacuum source. Movement of the cutter can be pneumatically controlled by a pair of air pistons located on the cutting head, with the air pistons receiving pneumatic control signals from an outside source via rotational pneumatic couplings between the fixture and spindle.
