    摘要: A valve system of an overhead-camshaft-type internal combustion engine includes a cam holder fastened to a cylinder head having a combustion chamber formed therein. The cam holder supports a camshaft, and is disposed above the combustion chamber. The cam holder includes a bottom wall, a pair of oppositely-facing support walls having lower sides thereof joined with each other by the bottom wall, and a rib joining predetermined oppositely-facing portions of respective upper side portions of the support walls with each other. The support walls of the cam holder pivotally support the cam shaft. The rib may be integrated with the cam holder, or may be separately formed and fastened to the support walls of the cam holder.

    摘要: A camshaft apparatus includes rolling bearings which support a camshaft rotatably, whereby a reduction in torque when an engine is started or is running at low speeds, a reduction in vibration of the camshaft and an extension of the lives of the bearings can be realized. In the rolling bearings, one rolling bearing is made to constitute a main ball bearing which restrains an axial relative movement of the camshaft relative to a shaft case, and the other rolling bearings are made to constitute a plurality of needle roller bearings, whereby a mechanical movement of the camshaft in an axial direction can be restricted in an ensured fashion by the main ball bearing. As to relative displacements due to thermal expansion or contraction of the camshaft and/or the shaft case, an axial relative displacement can be absorbed by needle rollers relatively moving on inter-cam outer circumferential surface areas.

    摘要: An internal combustion piston engine based on a four-stroke process, including a crankcase in which at least one cylinder/piston assembly is arranged, the piston being guided by a connecting rod connected to a crankshaft. At least one cylinder head closes the cylinder, each of whose intake and exhaust channels are controlled by at least one intake valve and one exhaust valve (13, 13a). The intake and exhaust valves (13, 13a) are actuable by a rocker arm (5) or a finger lever driven by a camshaft (1) through intake and exhaust cams (2). The rocker arms or finger levers are guided on at least one axle (6). A brake control device is provided which includes, in the region of the base circle of the exhaust cam (2), at least one additional cam (1) for an additional opening of at least one of the exhaust valves (13, 13a). A control element (12, 12a) is installed between the rocker arm (5) or finger lever and the exhaust valve or valves (13, 13a), which control element (12, 12a) can be connected to the pressurized oil circulation system of the internal combustion piston engine and whose length can be varied, so that the additional cam (3) is active during a braking operation and inactive during a pure engine operation. The control element (12) is arranged in a bridge (11) that is associated with a plurality of exhaust valves (13, 13a).
