摘要: Purge branch coupling for a main flexible hose, reinforced or not, sheathed or unsheathed, of the type having the shape of a tubular insert which is intended to co-operate with a closure piece of its proximal extremity and which is integral with the main hose by moulding coating of a splicing material, particularly comprised of plastic or elastomer material. According to this invention, the tubular insert forming the purge branch coupling comprises a plurality of openings provided in its tubular wall so that the coating of said junction material, which penetrates into said openings during moulding establishes linking bridges between the portions of said coating which envelope the insert, thus providing for the holding in position of said insert. Application for couplings in lines of water, air and fuel circuits in motor vehicles.

摘要: A self-draining sill cock assembly is disclosed comprising a fluid outlet for location on an exterior wall, a fluid flow inlet adapted for location adjacent an interior wall and remote from the fluid outlet, a first conduit connecting the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet with the conduit inclined downwardly from the outlet to the inlet, a selectively operable valve located adjacent the fluid flow inlet for alternatively opening and closing the fluid flow inlet, a second conduit operatively connected to said valve adjacent the fluid flow inlet and connected to a drain discharge adapted for location on the exterior wall with the valve alternatively opening and closing the second conduit, the second conduit being inclined downwardly from the valve to the drain discharge, and a manually operated valve control means adapted for location on the exterior wall and extending through the second conduit to the valve. The valve is located adjacent the interior wall while the valve control means is located adjacent the exterior wall with the valve having a first position closing the second conduit and fluidly connecting the first conduit to the fluid flow inlet, a second position closing both the fluid flow inlet and the second conduit, and a third position closing the fluid flow inlet and opening the second conduit for fluid communication with the first conduit whereby fluid in the first conduit would flow down the first conduit, through the valve, down through the second conduit, and out the drain on the exterior side of the wall. An air vent aperture in the valve control means provides venting of the second conduit.

摘要: A liquid-level valving device, particularly useful as an air-relief valve, comprises a housing including a first chamber having a control member axially movable in an opening therein, and a second chamber defined by a piston carried at the opposite end of the control member and a cylinder fixed to the housing. The second chamber has a small vent opening through which the control member extends, the latter having an axial bore establising communication between the two chambers. The cross-sectional area of the first-chamber end of the control member is less than that of its second-chamber end, and the mouth of the bore at the former end of the control member is of larger diameter than that of the vent opening in the second chamber, such that upon an increase in pressure in the first chamber, the pressure in the second chamber is likewise increased to cause the control member to be moved further into the first chamber to open the valve.The foregoing device is disclosed as embodied in an air-relief valve having a float in the first chamber coaxial with the control member for closing and opening its bore according to the level of the liquid in the first chamber.

摘要: Extraneous liquid which accumulates as a body at the low point of a large-diameter pipeline carrying gas under pressure is removed by utilizing the gas pressure to force the liquid out through a small-diameter line which is sealed through the wall of the large line and whose bore communicates with the interior of the large line at such low point. The small line is preferably positioned inside the large line, and means is provided for inserting the small line into an existing large line, from one end thereof.

A coupler includes a housing, a probe configured to translate longitudinally within the housing, a ball cage, a plurality of balls disposed in the ball cage, and a slidable sleeve coupled to the probe and configured to translate longitudinally with the probe. The slidable sleeve includes a collar that defines a plurality of channels positioned radially about and extending axially along an outer surface. The plurality of channels of the collar are configured to receive bearings of the receptacle to prevent rotation of the coupler relative to the receptacle. To couple the coupler to the receptacle, the slidable sleeve is configured to slide in a longitudinal direction into the receptacle to cause the plurality of channels to receive the bearings of the receptacle and subsequently cause the plurality of balls to lock the coupler to the receptacle.

摘要: A method for reducing emissions from a vessel includes isolating the vessel from a downstream fluid flow line, purging a fluid from the vessel by injecting purging media into the vessel to push the fluid through a check valve of a vent tubing and into the downstream fluid flow line, and draining the purging media from the vessel. A first end of the vent tubing is coupled to the housing of the vessel, and a second end of the vent tubing is coupled to the downstream fluid flow line. Further, the vent tubing includes a check valve disposed between the first end and the second end, and the check valve is configured to allow fluid to flow from the housing to the downstream fluid flow line.
