摘要: A method is disclosed for inspecting a mold which has a porous alumina layer over its surface. The method includes providing, based on a relationship between a first parameter indicative of a thickness of the porous alumina layer and a color parameter indicative of a color of reflected light from the porous alumina layer, first color information which represents a tolerance of the first parameter of a porous alumina layer which has an uneven structure that is within a tolerance; providing a mold which is an inspection subject, the mold having a porous alumina layer over its surface; obtaining a color parameter which is indicative of a color of reflected light from the porous alumina layer of the inspection subject mold; and determining a suitability of the first parameter of the inspection subject mold based on the obtained color parameter and the first color information.

摘要: A system and method for purifying an aqueous contaminated fluid from colloidal contaminants using a closed-loop feedback control system are disclosed. Contaminated fluid flows into a mixer and mixed with a purifying agent, such as diatomaceous earth, to facilitate metathesis reaction between the purifying agent and the contaminants. The purifying agent entraps the contaminants, and is subsequently removed in a separator into sediments. An estimation of the amount of the purifying agent to dispense is performed using pre-defined equations or look-up tables stored in the database, including relationship between the concentration of contaminants in the fluid and the concentration of the added purifying agent. An automated feedback control is applied to fine tune the purification process into compliance with regulations. High accuracy of measurements is ensured by selecting the same material for both the purifying agent and the trapping medium of analyzers, and additionally by the design of the analyzers.

摘要: The device for the microbiological analysis of a support adapted to contain microorganisms marked by a fluorophore agent, said agent being adapted to absorb light energy with an absorption spectrum (53) having a crest (53′) at a predetermined absorption wavelength (λ2) and to release that energy by emitting light with an emission spectrum (54) having a crest (54′) at a predetermined emission wavelength (λ3) distinct from said absorption wavelength (λ2), comprises illuminating means; the spectrum (55) of the excitation light coming from the illuminating means having a crest (55′) at a predetermined excitation wavelength (λ1) with a predetermined difference between the excitation (λ1) and absorption (λ2) wavelengths by virtue of which it is made easy to discriminate the light emitted by said fluorophore agent from that coming from the illuminating means.

摘要: An apparatus comprising a light-emitting device configured to illuminate blood. The light-emitting device may comprise a green light source configured to emit green light. The light-emitting device may also comprise a red light source configured to emit red light. The green and red light sources may be configured such that at least a portion of the green light and at least a portion of the red light combine to form a combined light area. The combined light area may cause a red color to be perceived as standing out in contrast to non-red colors. A filter device configured to transmit a light spectrum optimized to track blood is disclosed. The filter device may comprise a notch filter. A flashlight adaptor for illuminating blood is also disclosed. A method for illuminating blood is further disclosed.

摘要: A system and method are provided for detecting extraneous material, often referred to as scarf, in the interior of a tubular steel product. The system is arranged to illuminate one end of the tube as it passes through the field of view of an imaging system, preferably a Smart Camera. The camera obtains images and processes the images to determine if scarf is present in the interior of the tube. Preferably a processor determines the percentage of dark pixels in the interior of the tube as detected in the image and if a predetermined threshold is met or exceeded, the tube fails. A blob sensor is also preferably used to avoid false positives where the dark pixels do not have a certain amount of connectivity.

摘要: A fluid contamination analyzer has a sample cell containing a trapping medium capable of trapping contaminants suspended in the aqueous fluid flowing through the trapping medium, a light source for illuminating the trapping medium to cause the entrapped contaminants generate a secondary radiation indicative of the identity and quantity of the contaminants, and a photodetector for receiving the secondary radiation. The fluid contamination analyzer has a reflective shell in the form of an ellipsoid extending at least partially around the sample cell and the detector, the sample cell being positioned at one of the focal points of the ellipsoid, and the photodetector at the other point of the ellipsoid to receive the secondary radiation reflected by the reflective shell.

摘要: An apparatus for measuring an absorption coefficient includes a first diffusive material, a second diffusive material inside the first diffusive material separated from the first diffusive material by a cavity, and a transparent material proximate to an inner surface of the second diffusive material that holds an absorptive material. First and second light detectors measure light intensities in the first and second diffusive materials respectively. An absorption coefficient for the absorptive material may be determined based on the first and second light intensities measured when the cavity is illuminated by a light source.
