Abstract: The present invention relates to an electric generator that uses electric coils and magnets to induce electrical energy by magnetic induction. The present invention utilizes more coils and magnets then the prior art in similar size enclosure so as to maximize the amount of electrical energy generated. Air flow is effectively induced by the present invention to dissipate excess heat created by the added coils and magnets. Abstract: A compressor system including a motor including: a rotor that rotates around an axis and a stator disposed on an outer circumferential side of the rotor with a gap from the rotor; a compressor that rotates together with the rotor to generate a compressed fluid; and a partitioning member that is disposed in the gap formed between the rotor and the stator to partition the gap in the radial direction, and forms a rotor-side flow passage through which a cooling fluid can flow along the axis with the rotor, and a stator-side flow passage through which the cooling fluid can flow along the axis with the stator. The partitioning member has a cylindrical shape with the axis as a center and has a shape in which a thickness dimension in a radial direction of the rotor increases from one side to the other side of the axis.

Abstract: A power tool is provided including a housing, a brushless DC motor housed inside the housing, and a control unit housed inside the housing for controlling an operation of the brushless DC motor. The control unit includes a potting boat having an open portion, a circuit board received within the potting boat through the open portion, power switching elements mounted on the circuit board, a potting compound receiving within the potting boat to substantially surround the circuit board, and a heat sink in thermal communication with the power switching elements. The heat sink has a surface exposed outside the potting compound through the open portion of the potting boat.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for detecting seal failure of a sealed region within a conveyor component. A fluid line extends out of the sealed region and a sensor is connected to the fluid line. A valve is connected subsequent to the sensor, and a fluid pump that is connected subsequent to the valve. A controller is connected to the sensor, the valve, and the fluid pump. The sensor is external to the sealed region and the valve is a solenoid valve. The sealed region is within an idler pulley that has a drum shell with an end lid affixed at an axial end thereof, and a shaft. The sealed region can be contained within a motorized drum or a hollow conveyor frame structure. A method detects seal failure by forming a sealed region bounded by a surface and a seal, and altering a fluid pressure, th time rate of change of which is monitored.

Abstract: An electric motor including a rotor, rotating about an axis of rotation, and a stator, coaxial to the rotor. The stator has a casing. A body incorporates a controller of the electric motor. The body is placed outside the stator and parallel to the axis of rotation in a position substantially tangent to the casing of the stator. The rotor includes a first and second cooling fan, keyed on respective first and second axial ends of the rotor, opposite along the axis of rotation. The first and second cooling fans generate respectively, with the rotation of the rotor, a first and a second flow of cooling air independent of each other. The first flow of cooling air is directed toward the first axial end of the rotor, and the second flow of cooling air is directed towards the body so as to cool down the controller.

Abstract: An alternating current generator for vehicles includes a stator, a rotor having a Lundell type core and a magnetic field winding, first and second cooling fans which are fixed to an axial end surface of the Lundell type core and generate cooling air along with the rotation of the rotor, and a fan base which is disposed between the second cooling fan and the Lundell type core and regulates the cooling air. The Lundell type core includes a plurality of U-shaped clearances formed in the outer periphery of the axial end surface being circumferentially spaced apart from each other. The fan base includes a plurality of alternately and circumferentially disposed large-diameter portions and small-diameter portions, with at least one of the small-diameter portions being disposed axially confronting a U-shaped clearance.

The housing is coupled to the stator assembly opposite the fan guard. The vented base includes a plurality of vent openings opened toward the fan guard.
