    摘要: Systems and methods are described whereby a deoxygenated liquid dye material is made by supplying the deoxygenated inert gas to a liquid dye material that is susceptible to oxidation, and mixing the liquid dye material in the presence of the supplied deoxygenated inert gas with water and at least one dye formulation component selected from the group consisting of reducing agents, pH adjusters, foaming agents, wetting agents and auxiliary chemicals to form a deoxygenated aqueous dye composition having an oxygen content of 30 ppm oxygen or less. A supply of inert gas may be provided which is then passed to a gas purifier to reduce oxygen content in the inert gas to, e.g., 1 ppb oxygen or less. The deoxygenated aqueous dye composition that is formed may have an oxygen content of 1 ppm or less.

    摘要: A hybrid pigment composition is provided including a pigment or a dye and a fibrous clay. The pigment composition has higher reflectance in a near infrared region than a visible light region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The fibrous clay can be selected from palygorskite, sepiolite, and mixtures thereof. The hybrid pigment composition is tunable to provide high reflectance at a desired wavelength in the near infrared region.

    摘要: A process for reducing vat dyes, such as indigo, into their leuco form by placing a metal, such as aluminum, in water in the presence of a reduction facilitator to form a first solution after which a vat dye having the general structure O.dbd.C(--C.dbd.C--).sub.N C.dbd.O where N=1, 2 or 4 is mixed with the first solution to form a dye solution where substantially all of the vat dye is reduced to its soluble leuco form having the general structure HO--C.dbd.(C--C).sub.N .dbd.C--OH. The process includes dyeing fabric in the dye solution. the reduction facilitator may be a base, for example that produced hydroxide ions in water, and the first solution as well as the dye solution can be a basic solution. The soluble leuco can be isolated from the dye solution and dissolved in a non-aqueous solution. Prior to mixing the vat dye in water, it may first be dissolved in a solvent miscible with water.

    摘要: A method for dyeing nylon filaments for use in wear-indicating toothbrushes includes immersing a batch of a first nylon filament for between 10 minutes and 80 minutes in an aqueous solution containing between 0.01% and 0.19% weight to volume of Indigotine dye, said solution having a pH between 1 and 7 and having a temperature between 50.degree. C. and 90.degree. C., the dye penetrating into the filament to color an outer cross-sectional region and not penetrating into an inner cross-sectional region of the filament; removing the batch of the first nylon filament from the solution, and repeating the steps for a batch of a second nylon filament, reusing the same solution.
