摘要： A small switch having a liquid crystal display includes an operation button; a liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal panel for displaying information including characters and/or pictures on the operation button and a printed circuit board on which an IC chip, which serves as a driver circuit for the liquid crystal panel, is mounted, the liquid crystal display device being housed in the operation button; a switch body including a contact mechanism for opening and closing an electrical path by vertically moving the operation button; and backlight sources having different colors. The liquid crystal panel is an antiferroelectric liquid crystal panel. The backlight sources are sequentially turned on at high speed below the antiferroelectric liquid crystal panel, and liquid crystal screens having different display contents for every color are displayed in synchronization with the turning on of the backlight sources to achieve multicolor display.

Implanted in the base portion on both sides of the common stationary contact are switching stationary contacts each comprising a rod-shaped conductor bent at two locations and having a switching stationary terminal extending outside the housing. The arrangement is such that the inter-terminal spacing outside the housing is greater than the inter-contact spacing inside the housing, thus making it possible to reduce the size of the switch housing and adapt the switch to various mounting structures.

摘要： A display switch includes switch elements disposed on a display which is capable of electrically changing images displayed thereon. Above the switch elements are disposed a plurality of buttons formed of a transparent material and supported by a frame member. A depression is formed in each of at least two opposite side surfaces of each button, and the frame member has flange portions that engage with the depressions in order to limit movement of the buttons. Also, elastic members are disposed under the buttons in order to allow each button to move during operation while imparting a feel to a user and to automatically return the button to its original position.
