摘要: A gas injection nozzle refractory with one or more gas injection small metal tubes buried therein has improved durability. The gas injection nozzle refractory includes a MgO—C central refractory with a small metal tube buried therein, and a MgO—C peripheral refractory surrounding the central refractory. The central refractory on a plane of the gas injection nozzle refractory has an external shape of a circle with a radius in the range of R+10 to R+150 mm concentric with a virtual circle with a minimum radius surrounding all buried small metal tubes, R mm being a radius of the virtual circle.

摘要: A refractory brick having durability equal to alumina-magnesia castable materials, which is especially suitable for a ladle for steel making is provided. A refractory brick prepared by using an alumina raw material and a magnesia raw material containing 90% by mass or more of a fine powder of not more than 0.5 mm, press molding and then heat treating at 100° C. or higher and not higher than 1,150° C., the refractory brick containing Al2O3 and MgO in a total sum of 90% by mass or more, from 4 to 16% by mass of MgO, from 0.5 to 5% by mass of SiO2, and Na2O and K2O in a total sum of from 0.3 to 2% by mass, with the remainder being inevitable impurities and Al2O3.

摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a casting nozzle in which attachment and deposition of alumina or the like can be prevented while a drift of molten steel can be prevented. The casting nozzle according to the invention is characterized in that the casting nozzle has a molten steel flow hole portion in which “a plurality of independent protrusion portions and/or concave portions” are disposed so that each of the protrusion portions and/or concave portions has a size satisfying the expression (1): H≧2 mm and the expression (2): L>2×H mm [in which “H” shows the maximum height of the protrusion portion or the maximum depth of the concave portion, and “L” shows the maximum length of a base portion of the protrusion portion or concave portion].

摘要: The hot repair mix according to the present invention comprises p-alkylphenol as an auxiliary fluidizing agent in an amount of 1 to 20 weight parts and a material to form carbon bond in hot working process in an amount of 5 to 40 weight parts to 100 weight parts of a refractory material. It has satisfactory properties such as spreading property, hardenability, adhesive property, property of the finished portion in hot working process, and this leads to improvement of durability of the baking material. Moreover, there is no change over time such as solidification, sedimentation separation, etc. in summer season, and it can be easily transported and stored. Because of easy handling and good workability of this material, baking operation can be accomplished within short time, and it is very useful as a hot repair mix for repairing various types of refinery furnaces, molten metal containers, etc. in hot working process.

摘要: A submerged nozzle change device has a slide valve unit 3 which is provided in a molten-metal outlet formed in a lower portion of a molten-metal containing vessel 1 for controlling the outflow of a molten metal. A pair of guide rails 26 for slidably suspending and supporting a holding case 6 mounted on an upper end of a submerged nozzle 5 are swingably supported on the slide valve unit 3 so that one end of each of the guide rails can be pivotally moved upwards and downwards about a shaft 21 while being biased upwards. On the free ends of the guide rails 24, there is provided a pushing cylinder 30 for pushing a new submerged nozzle 51 set on the guide rails 26 to push an old submerged nozzle 52 to the opposite side. A pair of guide rollers 35, which are moved by a piston rod 30a of the pushing cylinder 30, are brought into contact with the upper surfaces of the guide rails 26 to hold the guide rails 26 horizontally until a nozzle hole 52b of the old submerged nozzle 52 is out of register with a nozzle hole 11a of the slide valve unit 3 to close the nozzle hole 11a of the slide valve unit 3. An inclined cam 27 is provided for moving the guide rails 26 downwards until the new submerged nozzle 51 reaches the lower surface of the slide valve unit 3 after the nozzle hole 11a is closed. Thus, it is possible to provide a submerged nozzle change device which can quickly change a submerged nozzle and which can prevent the contact surface of a submerged nozzle from being scratched when a new submerged nozzle is caused to slide to move to a predetermined position.

摘要: In a cell for measuring electrical conductivity, a container (2) and electrodes (1) are made of ceramics having high corrosion-resistant property. Insulating ceramics are used for the container (2), and conductive ceramics having resistance value of several k .OMEGA..cm or less is used for the electrodes (1). The ceramics are far superior to glass in corrosion resistant property and mechanical strength under normal as well as high temperature conditions. Further, the cell is produced at lower cost than the one made of precious metal and has high corrosion resistant property and can be used under strong acid or strong alkaline conditions. It has high mechanical strength and can be used under high pressure and high temperature conditions and produced at low cost because precious metal is not used for the electrodes.
