Abstract: There is provided a method of communication between functional blocks in a system-on-chip. The method includes: exchanging a respective public key between a first functional block and a second functional block in the system-on-chip (SoC) for a communication therebetween, the first functional block being a transmitter of the communication and the second function block being a receiver of the communication; generating, at the first functional block, a first code based on the public key of the second functional block; generating, at the second functional block, a second code based on the public key of the first functional block; obfuscating, at the first functional block, an address associated with the communication based on the first code to produce an obfuscated address; transmitting, at the first functional block, the obfuscated address to the second functional block via an interconnect communication infrastructure in the system-on-chip; receiving, at the second functional block, the obfuscated address from the first functional block via the interconnect communication infrastructure; and deobfuscating, at the second functional block, the obfuscated address received based on the second code to produce a deobfuscated address associated with the communication. There is also provided a corresponding system-on-chip.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide for a multimodal microscopy system. The multimodal microscopy system may include an illumination module configured to provide a light beam to a sample under test via a delivery path; and an optical arrangement configured to receive the light beam from the sample through a detection path to generate a microscopy image of the sample. The optical arrangement may be operable to switch among a plurality of imaging modalities using the detection path shared by the plurality of imaging modalities. The plurality of imaging modalities may include brightfield microscopy, fluorescent microscopy, and endoscopic microscopy. The multimodal microscopy system may be a multimodal hyperspectral microscopy system.

Abstract: The present application relates to the field of cancer, particularly that of cancers with high MDM4 protein levels (such as melanoma, breast, colon or lung cancers, glioblastoma, retinoblastoma, etc.). It is shown herein that direct and selective inhibition of MDM4, e.g., by antisense RNA, leads to growth inhibition of cancer cells and sensitization to chemo or targeted therapies. Also provided are simple ways of determining which patients are most amenable for such treatment by comparing specific transcript levels.

Abstract: The disclosure concerns bacterial cell counting devices, systems and methods thereof. The bacterial cell counting device comprises at least one cartridge for containing reagents; an inlet for introducing a sample containing bacterial cells into the device; an optofluidic chip separately in fluid communication with the cartridge and the inlet; a filter strip passing through the optofluidic chip and in fluid communication with the cartridge and the inlet, the filter strip for trapping or retaining bacterial cells on its surface such that the bacterial cells can interact with the reagents as they flow through the filter strip; and a controller for controlling a sequential flow of reagents and sample to the filter strip via the optofluidic chip. The optofluidic chip is capable of detecting a colorimetric and/or fluorescence output emitted from the bacterial cells modified by the reagents in order for the bacterial cells to be quantified relative to a control.
