    摘要: There is provided a matrix and cultivation system for anchorage dependent cells. The matrix is characterized by a substantially increased available effective surface area for cell attachment which is attained by resorting to the use of a fiber network or open-pore foams with suitable pore size. Attachment of the cells can be enhanced by modifying the surface of the substrate. One embodiment comprises a matrix in particle or flake form.

    摘要: The invention relates to packing material for use in the cultivation of anchorage-dependent cells, which require a solid surface for proliferation. The packing material of the invention is provided in the form of units of curved sheet material, which individual units generally have a thickness of about 0.05 mm to 0.25 mm, the other dimensions being of the order of one to a few millimeter maximum dimensions. Various shapes can be used, such as twisted rectangles, segments of cylinders, convulated ribbons, twisted shapes, ring shape and the like.

    摘要: A method of preparing a stromal cell conditioned medium useful in expanding undifferentiated hemopoietic stem cells to increase the number of the hemopoietic stem cells is provided. The method comprising: (a) establishing a stromal cell culture in a stationary phase plug-flow bioreactor under continuous flow on a substrate in the form of a sheet, the substrate including a non-woven fibrous matrix forming a physiologically acceptable three-dimensional network of fibers, thereby expanding undifferentiated hemopoietic stem cells; and (b) when a desired stromal cell density has been achieved, collecting medium from the stationary phase plug-flow bioreactor, thereby obtaining the stromal cell conditioned medium useful in expanding the undifferentiated hemopoietic stem cells.

    摘要: A method and apparatus cultivates anchorage and nonanchorage cell in a reactor. A reactor includes a basket type packed bed and an internal recirculation device. The basket includes a top and bottom portion for allowing medium to flow uniformly through the basket. Medium flows downwardly from the top of the basket through the basket for providing gentle flow and preventing removal of cells from the carrier. Preferably, the carrier is formed of a fiber matrix.
