摘要： Lightweight inexpensive sleds, made of tough plastic or similar material, are disclosed for transporting injured people or inert loads. For rescue sleds, a strong strap is passed through slots around the periphery. This distributes forces in ways that avoid tearing, and it provides secure handholds, allowing people to lift and carry an injured person in a manner comparable to a backboard. A rescue sled including straps weighs only about 6 pounds, and can be carried on foot for miles, affixed to a backpack, making these sleds available immediately when needed.

摘要： A lightweight inductor for the motor controller of an aircraft starter includes a toroidal inductor core divided into multiple sections that are separated by a thermally conductive, but electrically insulating, material. The inductor core is wound with wire and positioned inside of an electrically and thermally conductive container, which acts as a heat sink and EMI shield, while also reducing eddy currents within the inductor core.

摘要： A cassette for vaporization of anesthetic agent for delivery to a patient is arranged to be received by an anesthesia machine which has control mechanisms for controlling vaporization of the agent. In a preferred arrangement, the cassette includes a housing for receiving, containing and emitting anesthetic agent. A sensor, such as a pressure sensor or a temperature sensor is embedded in the housing for obtaining a value of the agent contained in the reservoir. The sensor is operatively connected to the reservoir to obtain an accurate value of the agent. A communication link is provided between the sensor and the control mechanisms of the anesthesia machine when the cassette is received by the anesthesia machine. The cassette thus provides a simplified arrangement that efficiently and accurately provides values of the anesthetic agent being vaporized in the reservoir.

A float valve is linked to a second valve and storage chamber such that one valve is closed when the other is opened, and vice versa. The boot is cohered to the housing by welding. According to one embodiment, the boot is sonic or vibration welded to the housing. The present invention may be used in the production of a wide range of lamp assemblies, including vehicle headlamp assemblies.

摘要： A combination and unitary corrosion monitor and reference cell for cathodic protection systems includes an elongated tubular metal element of the same material as the structure to be protected and a reference cell on one end of the tubular element, adapted to be buried or submerged in an electrolyte. The tubular element includes resistance connections along its length and a reference resistance element sealed inside. Ratiometric resistance measurements enable the extent of corrosion and corrosion rates to be determined with automatic compensation for temperature changes. Both the resistance measurements and the potential measurements from the cell may be taken from the same test station or location.

摘要： Fully synthetic lubricating base oil compositions are formulated from blends of 50-97 wt % of synthetic hydrocarbons and 3-50 wt % isobutylene oligomers. The lubricating base oil compositions have constant viscosity indexes which are higher than those of the components used to form the compositions. The synthetic hydrocarbon and isobutylene oligomers are combinable in various amounts with conventional additives to form multi-grade engine lubricants, which are shear stable.
