Abstract:
The invention relates to a switch and to a method for transporting and installing such a switch, which is equipped with longitudinal sleepers, the sleeper sections (2, 3) of which are or can be coupled in a flexurally stiff manner by means of a connecting device (16) embedded in the sleeper heads (4) so that the switch can be folded for space-saving transport. The divided longitudinal sleepers are oriented relative to each other and installed in such a way that the joints of the longitudinal sleepers are aligned along a straight line, which thus can serve as a rotational axis for folding up a side of the switch. The joints aligned on the rotational axis act similarly to a hinge band so that complete switch segments, such as a switch end part or the core region, can be folded along the line.
Abstract:
A toothbrush head with plural tufts of bristles comprising tapered bristles and plural non-tapered bristles. Tufts containing tapered bristles are arranged along the widthways opposite outermost sides of the tuft pattern and are of a greater length than inner tufts which contain non tapering bristles.
Abstract:
An interferometer system and method may be used to measure substrate thickness or shape. The system may include two spaced apart reference flats having that form an optical cavity between two parallel reference surfaces. A substrate holder may be configured to place the substrate in the cavity with first and second substrate surfaces substantially parallel with corresponding first and second reference surfaces such that a space between the first or second substrate surface is three millimeters or less from a corresponding one of the reference surfaces or a damping surface. Interferometer devices may be located on diametrically opposite sides of the cavity and optically coupled thereto. The interferometers can map variations in spacing between the substrate surfaces and the reference surfaces, respectively, through interference of light optically coupled to and from to the cavity via the interferometer devices.
Abstract:
An injection moulding process for making a toothbrush involving a stack mould assembly of at least three mould blocks (1, 2, 3, 4) arranged for use along a longitudinal stack axis (A—A), with two end mould blocks (3, 4), and an intermediate mould block (1, 2), with part mould cavities (11A, 21, 31, 41, 51) in the blocks. Plastic toothbrush skeletons are made in a cavity (11A, 21, 31) between the intermediate block (1, 2) and one end block (3), then elastomer parts are made in a cavity (41, 51) between the intermediate block (1, 2) and the other end block (4). Preferably the intermediate block (1) rotates so its part cavity (11A) faces the other end block (4). Stack mould assemblies (1, 2, 3, 4) for this process are provided. The assembly (1, 2, 3, 4) provides a compact mould with high output.
Abstract:
A system for inspecting specimens such as semiconductor wafers is provided. The system provides scanning of dual-sided specimens using a diffraction grating that widens and passes nth order (n>0) wave fronts to the specimen surface and a reflective surface for each channel of the light beam. Two channels and two reflective surfaces are preferably employed, and the wavefronts are combined using a second diffraction grating and passed to a camera system having a desired aspect ratio. The system preferably comprises a damping arrangement which filters unwanted acoustic and seismic vibration, including an optics arrangement which scans a first portion of the specimen and a translation or rotation arrangement for translating or rotating the specimen to a position where the optics arrangement can scan the remaining portion(s) of the specimen. The system further includes means for stitching scans together, providing for smaller and less expensive optical elements.
Abstract:
A process for preparing acyloxybenzenesulfonates by reacting a carboxylic acid derivative with a salt of a phenolsulfonic acid in the presence of an antioxidant, preferably 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol. The addition of such antioxidants gives a product having a high color quality.
Abstract:
An arrangement for a temperature-compensated multi-dimensional micropositioning of mutually position-defined optical components including a guide unit for housing the optical components and a plurality of piezo actors. The guide unit includes two spaced plates or rings. Also included is three equally spaced solid joints arranged or integrated between the rings or plates, and stack-type piezo actors secured in a neighbouring relationship with the solid joints in such a manner that actuation forces act on the rings or plates. Further, at least the surfaces of the rings or plates accommodating the optical components are coated with a material corresponding to that of the optical components, the guide unit and the optical components are made from materials with essentially the same temperature coefficients, and one stack-type piezo actor is arranged between two solid joints.
Abstract:
Plug-type connector for producing a contact connection between a flat module (i.e., a printed circuit board) and a component part (i.e., a loudspeaker) having electrical terminals. The plug-type connector can be quickly connected to the flat module in a problem-free manner. The plug-type connector can be attached in the desired direction of assembly so that robotics can be used in the fabrication. The plug-type connector is designed as an essentially U-shaped part that can be plugged onto the edge region of the flat module. The legs of the plug-type connector have hook-shaped, projecting securing portions directed toward one another that electrically contact with contact pads or tracks applied on the flat module.
Abstract:
What is disclosed is a rigid, one-piece, shaped body, made of a biaxially stretched synthetic resin in the form of a sheet at least 1 mm thick, the edge of which does not lie in a single plane, and the surface of which is smaller than a flat initial surface enclosed by the edge and preferably approximates the mathematically minimum surface enclosed by the edge, is suitable according to the invention as a lightweight building element having high resistance to buckling. The new shaped bodies are made by shaping a flat sheet of biaxially stretched synthetic resin at least 1 mm thick, while in the thermoelastic state, so that the edge of the sheet is brought into a configuration which does not lie in one plane, and the surface enclosed by the edge is allowed to shrink back partially while in the thermoelastic state, whereby a shrinkage of the edge of the sheet is prevented by clamping the edge, and the resulting shaped body is cooled below the softening temperature before the edge clamping is loosened.
Abstract:
A motor housing for an electric motor has a generally cylindrical housing shell (10), which, at one end (26), accommodates a first bearing and a housing cover module (12) such that the housing cover module (12) closes an opposing, open end of the housing shell (10), and serves as a second bearing. The cover module (12) is preferably of metal material and is integrally formed with a plurality of projecting tab and/or arm portions (14, 16, 18). Around the housing shell (10), several recesses or slots (20) are formed, flanked by deformable elements (30,32). By axially applying a tool (60), the deformable elements are deformed to secure the tabs (14, 16, 18) within the slots (20) and to thereby connect the shell (10) and the cover module (12) axially together. The resulting structure is highly resistant to vibrational decoupling, and can readily be obtained by high-speed automated production steps.
