Abstract: Dynamic data tiling is provided. In various embodiments, a request is received for a tile of geographic data from a requestor. The request specifies a region relative to a projection. The region is looked up in a spatial index to determine one or more source tiles. The spatial index corresponds to the projection and the one or more source tiles intersecting the region. The one or more source tiles are requested from a proxy. The proxy is configured to maintain one or more persistent connections to one or more datastores and to retrieve the one or more source tiles via the one or more persistent connections. The one or more source tiles is received from the proxy. The requested tile of geographic data is constructed from the one or more source tiles. The requested tile of geographic data is provided to the requestor.

Abstract: Imagery-based boundary identification for agricultural fields is provided. In various embodiments, a time series of surface reflectance rasters for a geographic region is received. For each of the surface reflectance rasters, at least one index raster is determined, yielding at least one time series of index rasters. The at least one time series of index rasters is divided into a plurality of consecutive time windows. The at least one time series of index rasters is composited within each of the plurality of time windows, yielding a composite index raster for each of the at least one time series of index rasters in each of the plurality of time windows. The composite index rasters are segmented into a plurality of spatially compact regions of the geographic region. A plurality of polygons is generated from the plurality of spatially compact regions, each of the plurality of polygons corresponding to an agricultural field in the geographic region.

Abstract: A crop prediction system performs various machine learning operations to predict crop production and to identify a set of farming operations that, if performed, optimize crop production. The crop prediction system uses crop prediction models trained using various machine learning operations based on geographic and agronomic information. Responsive to receiving a request from a grower, the crop prediction system can access information representation of a portion of land corresponding to the request, such as the location of the land and corresponding weather conditions and soil composition. The crop prediction system applies one or more crop prediction models to the access information to predict a crop production and identify an optimized set of farming operations for the grower to perform.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for recommending farming practices based on modelled outcomes are provided. In various embodiments, field data comprising geospatial boundaries of one or more field are received. Management event data comprising one or more management events within the one or more fields is received. For each management event, a management event boundary defining geospatial boundaries is received, and one or more management zones is determined based on the management event boundaries. The determination of one or more management zones comprises sequentially intersecting a geospatial boundary. Each sequential intersection operation creating two branches, one with the intersection of the geometries and one with the difference. This process is repeated for all management event boundaries occurring in a geospatial boundary defining a contiguous region, wherein each individual management zone contains a unique set of farming practices relative to any other management zone within the contiguous region.

Abstract: An online agricultural system manages and optimizes interactions of entities within the system to enable the execution of transaction and the transportation of crop products. The online agricultural system accesses historic and environmental data describing factors that may impact crop product transactions and/or transportation to determine market prices for crop products and crop product transportation. Responsive to receiving a request from an entity, the online agricultural system determines an optimal transaction for the entity, such as a price for selling a crop product, an available crop product for purchase, or a transportation opportunity to transport a crop product.

Abstract: Detection of field irrigation through remote sensing is provided. In various embodiments, at least one time series of index rasters for a geographic region is read. A time series of weather data for the geographic region is read. The at least one time series of index rasters and the time series of weather data are divided into a plurality of time windows. The at least one time series of index rasters is composited within each of the plurality of time windows, yielding a composite index raster for each of the at least one time series of index rasters in each of the plurality of time windows. The time series of weather data is composited within each of the plurality of time windows, yielding composite weather data in each of the plurality of time windows. The composite index rasters and composite weather data are provided to a trained classifier. A pixel irrigation label for each pixel of the composite index rasters is obtained therefrom. Each pixel irrigation label indicates the presence or absence of irrigation at the associated pixel.
