摘要: An illumination device for an endoscope includes illumination means for coupling light into a light guide. The illumination means has an LED matrix array having a plurality of LED pixels forming an emission area, and further includes a light guide port associated with the illumination means for positioning a light-guiding transmission area, which is disposed at an end of the light guide. The device also includes LED pixels configured as sensor elements configured to detect LED pixels of the emission area that are directed at non-light-guiding portions of the light guide, and wherein the device has a control unit which is configured to selectively operate the LED pixels of the LED matrix array for coupling light into the light guide in such a manner that at least some of the LED pixels directed at the non-guiding portions of the light guide in the main emission direction are operated at lower power or deactivated.

摘要: A medical handling device comprises an instrument holder for holding an observation instrument that is equipped with an image capturing unit for capturing an image section of an object plane. The handling device further comprises a robotic handling unit that supports the instrument holder and a control device that comprises a handling control unit for controlling the robotic handling unit and an instrument control unit for controlling the observation instrument. An input device is coupled to the control device for selecting an image section to be reproduced. The control device is adapted to detect a present orientation of the observation instrument and to control the robotic handling unit, while taking into account the present orientation of the observation instrument, in response to user inputs at the input device. The observation instrument is movable with respect to a pivot point in the object plane at a defined object distance along a curved path.

摘要: Guided percutaneous uncertainty mapping device and method for providing visual representations of an uncertainty map with respect to an organ during a guided percutaneous procedure using an electromagnetic tracking (EMT) system comprising an EMT field generator and tracker, a catheter with a EMT sensor for placing in the organ to mark a percutaneous procedure target, and a needle with an EMT sensor and an electronic data processor configured for carrying out the steps of: receiving an indication of a percutaneous procedure target; receiving three-dimensional (3D) positions and orientations of the catheter and the needle tracked in real-time from the EMT system; estimating the uncertainty of the received position and orientation of the needle; estimating the uncertainty of the received position and orientation of the catheter: estimating a trajectory uncertainty of the needle departing from a current position and orientation of the needle; generating a visual representation of the estimated trajectory uncertainty and catheter uncertainty with respect to the EMT coordinate system for displaying on a user interface.

摘要: Guided percutanous device and method for providing visual representations of organ registration and tracking during a guided percutaneous procedure using an electromagnetic tracking (EMT) system comprising an EMT field generator and tracker defining an EMT coordinate system, a catheter with a EMT sensor for placing in the organ to indicate a percutaneous procedure target, a needle with an EMT sensor, an ultrasound (US) probe with an EMT sensor, and an electronic data processor configured for carrying out the steps of: loading preoperative imaging data; receiving 3D poses of the catheter, needle and US probe from the EMT; receiving intraoperative imaging data; calculating transformation matrices and multiplying said matrices to transform said imaging data and needle pose to a catheter pose; generating a visual representation of the transformed imaging data and needle pose for displaying on a user interface; generating a visual representation of the transformed registered preoperative imaging data for displaying on a user interface.

摘要: An apparatus configured for heat dissipation that includes a heat source, a heat sink and a heat conducting element. The heat conducting element conducts heat energy from the heat source to the heat sink along a heat conducting path, and the heat conducting element is arranged in such a way on the heat source and the heat sink and is configured to physically change in such a way with increasing temperature of the heat conducting element that: a) a first cross-sectional area between the heat source and the heat conducting element and/or a second cross-sectional area between the heat conducting element of the heat sink increases, and/or b) a length of the heat conducting path shortens.
