    摘要: The present invention provides a wholly aromatic liquid-crystalline polyester consisting of the repeating units represented by formulae (I), (II), (III) and (IV): wherein: the molar proportion of the repeating unit represented by formula (I) based on the total repeating units constituting the wholly aromatic liquid-crystalline polyester is 40-80 mol %; the molar ratio of the total amount of the repeating units represented by formulae (II) and (III) to the repeating unit represented by formula (IV) is from 90/100 to 100/90; the molar proportion of the repeating unit represented by formula (II) based on the total amount of the repeating units represented by formulae (II) and (III) is 80-99.9 mol%; and the two “—O—” attached to the benzene ring in formula (III) are positioned meta or para to each other and “Ar” in formula (IV) represents a bivalent aromatic group. The wholly aromatic liquid-crystalline polyester of the present invention exhibits excellent dielectric properties in high frequency regions as well as good mechanical properties such as impact strength.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a wholly aromatic liquid-crystalline polyester resin comprising the steps of: 1) acylating the hydroxy group of major monomer components selected from the group consisting of aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid, aromatic diol and aromatic dicarboxylic acid, with an acylating agent, provided that said major monomer components comprise at least one of aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid and aromatic diol; and 2) polycondensing said major monomer components of which hydroxy group is acylated, wherein, the polycondensation reaction is carried out in the presence of a metal dihydrogen phosphate in an amount of 1-5000 ppm based on the total monomer components, and a liquid-crystalline polyester resin manufactured by the method and a composition comprising said resin.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid-crystalline polyester blend, which is obtained by combining a liquid-crystalline polyester (A) and a liquid-crystalline polyester (B) such that the ratio by weight of (A)/(B) is 99/1 to 80/20: liquid-crystalline polyester (A) which consists of aromatic oxycarbonyl repeating units, aromatic dioxy repeating units and aromatic dicarbonyl repeating units, and contains 40-80 mol % of the repeating unit represented by formula (I) based on the total repeating units constituting the liquid-crystalline polyester (A); liquid-crystalline polyester (B) which comprises repeating units represented by formulae (I) and (II), wherein the molar proportion of the total amount of the repeating units represented by formulae (I) and (II) based on the total amount of the repeating units constituting the liquid-crystalline polyester (B) is greater than or equal to 90 mol % and the molar proportion of the repeating units represented by formulae (I) to (II) is from 10/90 to 50/50. The liquid-crystalline polyester blend of the present invention exhibits excellent dielectric properties in high frequency regions as well as good impact strength and molding processability.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid-crystalline polyester resin, essentially consisting of the repeating units represented by formulae [I]-[IV]: wherein p, q, r and s satisfy the following formulae: 0.4≦p/q≦2.0, 2≦r≦15, 2≦s≦15, and p+q+r+s=100, provided that the liquid-crystalline polyester resin has a melting point of 190-250° C. determined by differential scanning calorimetry. The liquid-crystalline polyester resin of the present invention exhibits a good molding processability at low temperatures and excellent mechanical properties.

The present invention provides a method for producing pellets of a liquid-crystalline polymer, which comprises: providing a molten state liquid-crystalline polymer in a polycondensation reaction vessel, pulling out the liquid-crystalline polymer from a valve at the bottom of the reaction vessel through a die to give a strand of the polymer, cooling the strand on a water cooling conveyor positioned below the reaction vessel, and cutting the strand to give the pellets, wherein the cooling water for the strand is pure water whose electrical conductance is not more than 10 μS/cm.
