摘要： A wound closure system and a method of closing a wound are disclosed. The wound closure system includes a plurality of skin anchors mechanically attached to external skin tissue around a periphery of a wound, a line extending between the skin anchors, the line slidably engaged with each skin anchor, and a biasing member that provides tension on the line to draw all of the skin anchors toward the wound. The method of closing a wound includes the steps of attaching a plurality of skin anchors to external skin around a periphery of a wound, extending a line between the skin anchors around substantially the entire periphery of the wound, and providing tension to the line to draw the skin anchors toward the wound.

摘要： A wound closure system and a method of closing a wound are disclosed. The disclosure is directed to a wound closure system comprising a skin anchor mechanically attached to external skin tissue on a first side of a generally linear wound, an anchorable tensioning apparatus mechanically attached to external skin tissue on an opposite side of the wound, and a line extending between the skin anchor and the tensioning apparatus to movably connect the anchor to the tensioning apparatus. The line is fixedly engaged with an anchor on one side of the wound while the tensioning apparatus provides tension on the line to draw the skin anchor and the tensioning apparatus toward each other and toward the wound.

摘要： An apparatus and related method for evoking, capturing, and optionally measuring one or more parameters within a sweat sample on the surface of the skin. The apparatus includes the use of an iontophoresis chemical chamber adapted to evoke a sweat sample, the chemical chamber being matably attached to a skin capsule adapted to contain the evoked sample. 摘要： A flexible shaft is connected directly to the crank shaft of a snowmobile engine by a coupler. The flexible shaft drives a reduction gear which is enclosed in a hand-held housing. The reduction gear rotates a drive shaft at a substantially reduced speed and the drive shaft connects to the ice auger bit through a coupler which allows disengagement of the bit when no downward pressure is applied to the housing.

摘要： A wound closure system and a method of reducing the size of an open wound are disclosed. A suture line is sutured through body tissue adjacent an open wound, the suture line sutured so as to pass into the body tissue at an entry point and exit at an exit point, the suture line including a plurality of barbs extending outwardly at an acute angle with respect to a surface of the suture line. A biasing member applies a continuous pulling force on the suture line for stretching the body tissue toward the open wound, wherein the biasing member is configured to take up any slack of the suture line during stretching of the body tissue and keep the suture line taut.

摘要： A bottom prefolding assembly prefolds the bottom panels of a package having a bottom wall formed with in-folded gusset tips. The prefolding assembly infolds the bottom gusset panels, leading and trailing panels of a carton and in-folds the gusset panel tips prior to forming the sealed carton bottom. The assembly includes a drive, first and second folding arms configured to contact and inwardly prefold the lead and trailing panels and a forming arm movable with the first and second folding arms. The forming arm has a pair of pivotable finger elements mounted thereto. The finger elements each having a carton engaging portion to engage the panel portions that form the gusset tips and fold the panel portions in a direction opposite of the folding of the gusset panels.

摘要： Hand-held shirt-pocket portable instrument for quantitative measurement of glucose or analysis in biological fluids. The system accepts a disposable diagnostic reagent test device which has a reagent carrier and mode of identifying to the instrument the reagent lot characteristics. The instrument includes a housing structure having a visual LCD readout, a microprocessor, and photosensing circuitry which measures the change of color of the reagent carrier upon reaction in the reacting chemistry of the disposable test device. The housing also includes a spring arrangement for actuating a disposable lancet into the skin for generating blood. The disposable diagnostic reagent unit includes a configuration for transporting of the blood in the regent unit. The system includes verification and calibration sequences for the electronics, the chemistry of an unused disposable unit, the presence of a blood sample, and the ambient temperature. The system also provides for storing a plurality of analysis readings.
