Abstract:
At least one method to efficiently produce alkylene oxide from partial oxidation of hydrocarbons using a high efficiency heterogeneous catalyst in a fixed bed enclosed within a reaction vessel, and a reaction vessel constructed to facilitate the same.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a composition for forming a protective coating upon a substrate. The composition has been found particularly useful for forming a protective coating upon components of automotive vehicles, such as a bedliner for a pick-up truck. The composition may include, without limitation, an isocyanate component and an amine component and optionally includes one or more of a catalyst, stabilizer, pigment, fire retardant or other additives.
Abstract:
Blend compositions containing a novel homopolymer, the use of which allows the incorporation of more comonomer in the additional components of the blend (for the same overall density) resulting in increased tie molecule formation and improvement in properties such as ESCR, toughness and impact strength are disclosed. The homopolymers are important for applications where a high density is needed to ensure certain mechanical properties like abrasion resistance, indentation resistance, pressure resistance, topload resistance, modulus of elasticity, or morphology (for the chlorination of PE to CPE) and additional advantages such as melt processability. The blend can be obtained by dry or melt mixing the already produced components, or through in-situ production by in parallel and/or in series arranged reactors. These resins can be used in applications such as films, blow molded, injection molded, and rotomolded articles, fibres, and cable and wire coatings and jacketings and, various forms of pipe.
Abstract:
The subject invention provides a film having at least one layer comprising an interpolymer of ethylene and at least on comonomer selected from the group consisting of C3-C20 null-olefins, dienes, and cycloalkenes, wherein the interpolymer is characterized as having a high degree of processability, good optical performance, and good mechanical properties. The subject invention further provides film fabrication processes and polymer compositions which are useful in preparing the subject films.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a unitary run flat tire (RFT) reinforcement that is formed into a relatively rigid shape. The reinforcement is insertable into a mold for an RFT support and can maintain the needed structural rigidity for such insertion. Further, the invention provides an RFT support that is molded and includes the RFT reinforcement. The invention also provides a wheel assembly including a tire, a rim, and an RFT support between the rim and the tire, where the support includes the RFT reinforcement. The RFT support can have a colored indicator formed or subsequently applied thereto to indicate one or more attributes of the support.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to supported catalyst composition for an addition polymerization, a process to prepare the same and the use thereof in an addition polymerization, wherein the composition comprises: (A) a particulated, solid support material; (B) an activator which is an ammonium salt of a compatible, noncoordinating anion, Anull, said anion, Anull containing a remnant formed by reaction of a non-ionic Lewis acid and a moiety containing an active hydrogen; and (C) a Group 4 metal complex catalyst.
Abstract:
The subject invention is directed to fibers and polymer blend compositions having improved bonding performance. In particular, the subject invention pertains to a multiconstituent fiber comprising a blend of a polypropylene polymer and a high molecular weight (i.e. low melt index or melt flow) ethylene polymer. The subject invention further pertains to the use of the fiber and polymer blend composition which has improved bonding performance in various end-use applications, especially woven and nonwoven fabrics such as, for example, disposable incontinence garments and diapers. The fibers have good spinnability and provide fabrics having improved bond strength and elongation.
