摘要: A circuit for detecting a physical quantity which comprises a bridge circuit including four sensitive elements having a resistivity which is variable in proportion to a physical quantity to be applied thereto. A power supply is connected to two input terminals of the bridge circuit for applying a voltage thereacross, and a variable resistor comprising a resistor having a predetermined resistance and an adjustable tap is provided for nulling the bridge. The circuit is arranged such that the zero adjustment of the output voltage may be accomplished by adjusting the resistance value of the variable resistor without affecting the characteristics of the thermal zero shift of the bridge circuit to thereby accurately obtain the output voltage corresponding to the physical quantity applied.

摘要: A method for forming a chromium carbide layer on the surface of an iron, ferrous alloy or cemented carbide article in a treating molten bath, comprising heating a mixture of boric acid or a borate and a chromium halide to its fusing state and immersing the article in the treating molten bath of said mixture, thereby forming a very hard chromium carbide layer on the surface of said article. The method of this invention can be carried out without ageing the treating bath and can form a very smooth chromium carbide layer on the surface of the article.

摘要: A sodium-sulfur storage battery having as part of its sulfur electrode a porous current collector formed of knitted or woven carbon or graphite yarn of high elastic modulus and tensile strength so as to yield greater mobility of sodium polysulfide (Na2Sx) within the current collector. Also, highly improved current collecting function is attained by virtue of use of knitted or woven yarn, and excellent corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength is attained by virtue of the use of carbon yarn of high elastic modulus and tensile strength, resulting in a storage battery having excellent discharge performance and durability.

摘要: An exhaust gas purifying device for burning the unburnt component contained in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. A swirl of air is formed in a combustion chamber, fuel is supplied into the combustion chamber and burnt, and a combustion flame swirling in the combustion chamber is blown into a reaction chamber disposed in an exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine. A porous member made of noncombustible material is mounted to an opening of a fuel spouting pipe opened into the combustion chamber.

摘要: A process for the surface treatment of an iron or iron alloy stock comprising heating a mixture of boric acid or borate. A V-a group element of the periodic table consisting of vanadium, niobium and tantalum, or a substance containing the same, and carbon or a carbon containing substance to its fusing state in a bath vessel, and immersing the stock in the molten bath of said mixture, thereby forming a carbide layer of said element on the stock thus treated. The present invention can be performed without adding carbon to a mixture in the case when either said stock or said vessel includes carbon.
