Disclosed is a brake master cylinder configured to sense a variation in magnetic flux in accordance with operation of a piston installed with a magnet, and thus to control activation of brake lamps. The brake master cylinder includes a cylinder body connected to a booster, first and second pistons to reciprocate in the cylinder body, a Hall sensor installed at an outside of the cylinder body, to sense operation of the pistons, for control of activation of brake lamps, a coupling shaft formed at an end of the second piston facing the first piston, and a magnet ring assembly installed at the coupling shaft such that the magnet ring assembly faces the Hall sensor. The magnet ring assembly includes a bushing centrally formed with a fitting hole to receive the coupling shaft, and a ring-shaped magnet fitted around the bushing, to exert magnetic force on the Hall sensor.

A system for providing power and ground vias for power distributions systems includes first and second conductive layers on a microelectronic package. The conductive layers may include one or more conductive components such as, but not limited to, power planes, ground planes, pads, traces, and the like for electrically connecting to electronic components. A via may electrically connect the first and second conductive layers. The via may have a cross-section of at least three partially-overlapping shapes. Each of the shapes partially overlaps at least two of the other shapes. The shapes may be, for example, circular, triangular, rectangular, square, polygonal, rhomboidal shape, or any other shape.

A printed circuit board with reduced signal distortion, including one or more layers of non-conductive substrate upon which are disposed conductive pathways that conduct signals, the signals characterized by distortion at least partly caused by orientation of the conductive pathways on the layers of the printed circuit board, and a periodically patterned reference plane; each conductive pathway that conducts signals oriented orthogonally or diagonally at forty-five degrees with respect to other conductive pathways that conduct signals on the printed circuit board; the periodically patterned reference plane comprising a conductor having discontinuities arranged in a periodically recurring pattern, the pattern of the discontinuities oriented on a surface of a layer of the printed circuit board at an optimum angle, with respect to the conductive pathways that conduct signals on the printed circuit board, that reduces distortion of the signals.

An apparatus for loading and unloading a main landing gear (“MLG”) of an aircraft includes a fixture that is adapted to couple to a truck of the MLG such that a sagittal plane of the fixture is parallel to or coplanar with a sagittal plane of the MLG and both translational forces and turning moments applied to the fixture are coupled directly through the fixture to the MLG, a mechanism for controllably translating the fixture in the sagittal plane thereof, and a mechanism for controllably rotating the fixture in the sagittal plane thereof.

A method for the production of polyester suitable to be molded into a film with excellent surface properties.The method comprises passing dispersion-in-water type silica sol with pH 8 to 11 including sodium oxide as a stabilizer and silica particles with average diameters 0.01 to 0.3 .mu.m through a column of cation exchange resin having the following formula 1 and the strong basic anion exchange having the following formula 2, in sequence to adjust the pH value to 2 to 4, adding an hydrogen bonding agent and ethylene glycol thereto, heating the resultant silica sol under a reduced pressure to remove water, so as to obtain dispersion-in-ethylene glycol type silica sol, and adding 0.01 to 5% by weight of the dispersion-in-ethylene glycol type silica sol, as based on the weight of polyester to be produced, at any step during the ester interchange reaction. ##STR1##

A method and apparatus for producing a manganese-zinc ferrite single crystal using a local liquid pool formation which involves melting of a starting material in a crucible and lowering of the temperature of crucible to make the resultant melt maintain form three phase regions of an upper liquid pool region, an intermediate semi-rigid region and a lower solid region. A pair of heaters are disposed at the upper and side wall portions of crucible and controlled differently from each other so that the formed lower solid region extends at its peripheral portion throughout the inner surface of the side wall portion of the crucible, thereby minimizing the contact of the formed upper liquid pool region with the whole inner surface of the crucible. For monitoring respective temperatures of various portions in the crucible to control the heaters, there are provided thermocouples which includes a thermocouple for the crystal drawing port member, a thermocouple for the upper portion of crucible, a thermocouple for the upper portion of the side wall of crucible and a thermocouple for the lower portion of crucible.

A pocket square tool comprises a pliable outer rod in a closed loop, having a substantially straight horizontal top edge and a curved U-shaped bottom edge, and a substantially straight pliable horizontal intermediate rod extending a horizontal distance between a left edge of the outer rod and a right edge of the outer rod and parallel to the top edge of the outer rod. The pocket square tool is adjustable in size. There are two intermediate rods parallel to each other. Other embodiments may have additional intermediate rods. The intermediate rods can be coupled to the outer rod or formed integral to it. Various methods of securing a pocket square use the tool.
