Grooves are formed on a finish-annealed electrical steel sheet by applying a mean load of from 90 to 220 kg/mm.sup.2 to the steel sheet, which is then heat treated at a temperature of 750.degree. C. or higher, and thereby fine crystal grains are generated at the strain-introduced sites of the steel sheet. The fine crystal grain reduces the watt-loss value. Such a watt-loss improving effect is not impaired even by stress-relief annealing.

Provided is a process for producing a ceramic for a heat-radiating member. The process includes providing as a raw material an alumina powder having an alumina (Al2O3) content of at least 99.5 mass % and an average particle size of from 0.2 to 1 μm, and granulating the powder into a granular form ranging from 50 to 100 μm, pressing the raw material which has been obtained in the granulation step and which includes granular alumina, and heating a green compact in an air atmosphere at a firing temperature of from 1,480 to 1,600° C. to obtain a sintered body. Also provided is a process for producing a ceramic for a heat-radiating member, the ceramic being a sintered alumina body which has high thermal conductivity, efficient heat dissipation, excellent mechanical strength and thermal shock resistance and which is usable for cooling applications at heat generating areas of electronic devices and equipment.

An iron powder developer carrier for electrophotography having at least the outer surface thereof coated with iron oxide. The iron oxide has a particle size of 50 to 200.mu., an apparent density of 1.5 to 2.5 g/cm.sup.3 and a specific surface area of 0.01 to 0.3 m.sup.2 /g.A process for the preparation of iron powder developer carriers for electrophotography, which comprises the steps of subjecting a starting iron powder to a primary calcination treatment in an inert gas atmosphere without using a binder, pulverizing and classifying said calcination product to prepare an intermediate iron powder, reducing the intermediate iron powder in a reducing atmosphere and washing the intermediate iron powder, and subjecting the intermediate iron powder to an oxidizing calcination treatment.

These shading films are stripe-shaded opaque films, and are formed between the transparent glass plate and the stripe-shaped color filters. As the boundary portions of all the filters are positioned on these shading films, the light incidented around the boundary portions is hindered by the shading films. For this reason, light reflection or scattering around the boundary portions is effectively eliminated, and a pure high quality color picture is obtained.
