A document printed on a piece of paper or the like is imaged by the mobile phone, the acquired document image is transmitted to a transmitting server via a mobile communication network, the transmitting server transmits the document image to the receiving server via a VPN in the Internet, and the receiving server stores the document image received from the transmitting server. Since unauthorized acquisition and alteration of the document image in a mobile communication network and the VPN are substantially impossible, the document image taken by the mobile phone can be securely transmitted to the remote receiving server.
