    摘要: A bias circuit for a smart power amplifier includes a high power mode bias circuit and a low power mode bias circuit, and operates only one of the bias circuits selectively using a switching circuit according to an input signal. Therefore, the bias circuit of high power mode and the bias circuit of the low power mode are divided and can be optimized according to characteristics of the power. Accordingly, a gain difference with respect to each power can be minimized and the low power mode can be controlled with a small amount of current in a state of initial current with a low power and in a middle power, such that an efficiency of the power amplifier can be improved at low power.

    摘要: An magneto-optical disk drive comprises a driving apparatus for rotating a medium, an electromagnet positioned above or below the medium for producing a magnetic field on a recording surface of the medium, and an optical head by which laser light illuminates the recording surface and the laser light reflected from the recording surface is picked up. Here, the electromagnet comprises a plurality of subdivided electromagnet elements, a magnetic field concentrator by combining the electromagnet elements in a magnetic circuit and concentrating magnetic fields produced from the combined electromagnet elements on a portion of the electromagnet, and a center magnetic pole provided in an opposing position with respect to the optical head, to thereby make the magnetic field concentrated by the magnetic field concentrator pass through the recording surface of the medium. Accordingly, the recording time or data on the medium becomes greatly shortened, thereby enabling high speed data recording.

    摘要: An optical pickup for recording and reproducing information via a magneto-optical disk comprises a phase-diffraction grating which is diffracted in two directions perpendicular to each other on a plane perpendicular to a beam axis. The diffracted light of the phase-diffraction grating has a different phase for each direction, and the phases are varied according to the polarization angle which is rotated by the Kerr effect of the magneto-optical disk. The reproduction signal is detected using the intensity variation of the diffracted light of the two directions due to the phase change. Also, the focus error signal according to the oscillation of the magneto-optical disk is detected by condensing the diffracted light of the phase-diffraction grating by means of the condensing lens and using the amplitude change of the diffracted light. Such an optical pickup is not affected by the variation of the light quantity, thereby contributing to clear reproduction and the enhancement of the signal-to-noise ratio.
