Abstract: Electronic telecommunication articles are described comprising a crosslinked fluoropolymer layer comprising fluoropolymer particles having a particle size of greater than 1 micron. In typical embodiments, the crosslinked fluoropolymer layer is a in substrate, patterned (e.g. photoresist) layer, insulating layer, passivation layer, cladding, protective layer, or a combination thereof. Also describes are methods of making an electronic telecommunications article and method of forming a patterned fluoropolymer layer. The fluoropolymer preferably comprises at least 80, 85, or 90% by weight of polymerized units of perfluorinated monomers and cure sites selected from nitrile, iodine, bromine, and chlorine. Illustrative electronic communication articles include integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, antennas, and optical fiber cables. Fluoropolymer compositions are also described.

Abstract: Described herein is a method to synthesize a perfluorinated allyl ether compound of formula (I) or a perfluorinated allyl amine compound of formula (II) Where Rf1 and Rf2 are (i) independently selected from a perfluorinated alkyl group comprising 1-7 carbon atoms, a perfluorinated aryl group comprising a 5- or 6-membered ring, or combinations thereof, and optionally comprising one or more catenated heteroatoms selected from N or O; or (ii) bonded together to form a perfluorinated ring structure having 4-8 ring carbon atoms, optionally comprising at least one catenated O or N atom; and Rf3 is a perfluorinated alkyl group comprising 1-3 carbon atoms. The resulting perfluorinated allyl ether compounds disclosed herein may be used in polymer synthesis.

A catalyst ink and polymer electrolyte membrane including the copolymer are also provided.

Abstract: Described herein is a perfluorinated aminoolefin compound of general formula (I): CFY═CXN(Rf)CF2Rf′ where: (a) Rf and Rf′ are (i) independently selected from a linear or branched perfluoroalkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms, optionally comprising at least one catenated O or N atom, or (ii) bonded together to form a perfluorinated ring structure having 4-8 ring carbon atoms, optionally comprising at least one catenated O atom; and (b) X and Y are (i) independently selected from a perfluoroalkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, or (ii) bonded together to form a perfluorinated ring structure having 5-6 ring carbon atoms. Such compounds may be used in heat transfer, foam blowing or immersion cooling applications, or as a working fluid in a Rankine cycle, a coating or lubricant, or as a dielectric fluid. Also disclosed herein is a method for making such compounds.

Abstract: Described herein is a fluorothermoplast with long chain branching and a method of making such a polymer using a modifier of the formula: F2C═CF(CF2)a(O)RfH wherein a is 0 or 1 and Rf is a linear or branched fluorinated alkylene group comprising 1 to 5 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one ether linkage and optionally comprising 1 or 2 hydrogen atoms. This fluorothermoplast may be processed through polymer melt processes, such as blow molding, injection molding, film extrusion, and wire extrusion. Preferably, said polymer contains structural units derived from tetrafluoroethylene and a perfluorinated olefin or ether, and comprises chain branching.

Abstract: A tetrafluoroethene copolymer having a melting point of from about 240° C. to 325° C., a melt flow index (MFI at 372° C. and 5 kg load) of 0.5-80 grams/10 minutes and having at least 70% by weight of units derived from tetrafluoroethene and further comprising units derived from at least one perfluorinated alkyl allyl ether (PAAE) comonomer corresponding to the general formula: CF2═CF—CF2—O—Rf (I) where Rf is a perfluorinated alkyl residue having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms and wherein the alkyl chain of the residue may be interrupted once or more than once by an oxygen atom and further, optionally, comprising units derived from perfluoromethyl vinyl ether (PMVE), perfluoroethyl vinyl ether (PEVE) and a combination thereof and wherein the content of units CA derived PAAEs and, optionally, PMVE, PEVE or a combination thereof, is at least 1.0% by weight.

Abstract: Described herein is an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising: (a) an ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (b) 1-25 wt % of a non-ionic, branched, alkoxy alcohol surfactant versus the ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, and (c) 0.05-5 wt % non-fluorinated anionic surfactant versus the ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer. Such aqueous polymer dispersion may be used to coat a fiber-containing substrate.
