Abstract: A panel which may be used as a part of a surface covering system, such as that for a wall or a ceiling, and which is useful to provide easy installation, durability, beneficial fire preventive performance, resistance to mold growth, and resistance to moisture. The panels may have a first major surface, a second major surface opposite the first major surface, and a side surface extending between the first and second major surfaces. The panel may be formed from polyvinyl chloride present in an amount from about 45 to about 70 wt. %; carbonate present in an amount from about 10 to about 31 wt. %; stearate present in an amount from about 1 to about 6 wt. %; and aluminum hydroxide present in an amount from about 10 to about 30 wt. %.

Abstract: A surface covering system, a method of covering a surface, and an apparatus for covering a surface. The surface may be a floor, a wall, or a ceiling. In one embodiment, the surface covering system includes a plurality of panels and an adhesive tape that is configured to detachably couple the panels to the surface. The adhesive tape may include a substrate-side adhesive component, a panel-side adhesive component, and a release component between the substrate-side and panel-side adhesive components. The panels may be detachably coupled to the substrate by the adhesive tape such that at least one adhesive layer of the substrate-side adhesive component is adhered to the substrate, at least one adhesive layer of the panel-side adhesive component is adhered to the rear surfaces of the panels, and the release component is between the substrate-side adhesive component and the panel-side adhesive component.

Abstract: Disclosed is a coating composition suitable for application to an acoustic panel. The coating composition includes a Pigment blend. The Pigment blend includes calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide, calcined diatomaceous earth, and aluminum hydroxide. The coating composition further includes a clay and a biocide including zinc. The coating composition further includes a binder. A ratio of pigment-to-binder is from about 3:1 to about 30:1.
