    摘要: A method for forming interconnections in microelectronic devices, including interconnections through small vias between different layers in the microelectronic devices include the spin coating of a film comprising a polyoxometalate and an organic material on the substrate. The film is optionally patterned by lithography, the polymer is removed, and the polyoxometalate is reduced to a metal layer. The metal layer may in one embodiment provide a nucleating zone for the deposition of metal.

    摘要: Pattern forming and transferring processes using radiation sensitive materials based upon mixtures of polyoxometalates and organic compounds. The processes involve establishing a layer of such radiation sensitve material on one or more layers of underlying materials. A pattern is formed in the layer of radiation sensitive material by exposing selected areas of the layer to radiation. The pattern may then be transferred into the underlying layers of material. Methods for developing patterns in layers of radiation sensitive materials, so as to hinder leaching of etch resistant substances included in the radiation sensitive materials, are also provided.

    摘要: A small diameter flexible electrode designed for subcutaneous in vivo amperometric monitoring of glucose is described. The electrode is designed to allow “one-point” in vivo calibration, i.e., to have zero output current at zero glucose concentration, even in the presence of other electroreactive species of serum or blood. The electrode is preferably three or four-layered, with the layers serially deposited within a recess upon the tip of a polyamide insulated gold wire. A first glucose concentration-to-current transducing layer is overcoated with an electrically insulating and glucose flux limiting layer (second layer) on which, optionally, an immobilized interference-eliminating horseradish peroxidase based film is deposited (third layer). An outer (fourth) layer is biocompatible.

    摘要: Polymers for use as redox mediators in electrochemical biosensors are described. The transition metal complexes attached to polymeric backbones can be used as redox mediators in enzyme based electrochemical sensors. In such instances, transition metal complexes accept electrons from, or transfer electrons to, enzymes at a high rate and also exchange electrons rapidly with the sensor. The transition metal complexes include at least one substituted or unsubstituted biimidazole ligand and may further include a second substituted or unsubstituted biimidazole ligand or a substituted or unsubstituted bipyridine or pyridylimidazole ligand.
