The bi-directional turbines are disposed to receive the reciprocal flows and perform a kinematically independent conversion of the operating medium reciprocal flows to rotary motion power output.

    摘要: Ternary phase, fluid controlled differential injection pressure fuel elements are provided for fuel injectors of the internal combustion engines. The fuel injection elements act as ternary phase, differential pressure, fluid controlled, hydraulic regulators. Fluid controlled pressurized control fluid acts directly at injection control valve and injection valve, independently governing an injection control valve and injection valve. The fuel injection elements may operate from either conventional crankshaft-camshaft driven fuel pumps or serve in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines as single (ending) injection control elements for fuel injection systems. The operating principles of the fuel injection elements create a controllable hydrodynamic impact effect and differentiated injection pressure of variable fuel injection parameters. Injection parameters may be varied during engine operation at different MCR. With appropriate algorithm and governing means, fuel injection elements are able to control operating parameters of the internal combustion engines in real time.

    摘要: A portable boring machine for boring bearing housings in situ includes a pair of spaced apart mounting members for adjustably positioning a boring bar within a row of bearing housings. The spaced apart mounting members are removably positionable on the boring bar and permit rotation of the boring bar with respect to the housings. The mounting members include radially adjustable jaws which enable the space between the boring bar and an adjacent bearing housing to be adjusted by the user in order to adjust the position of the boring bar within the housing and to vary the inclination of the boring bar with respect to the row of housings to be reconditioned. In this way the user has complete control between the relative positions of the boring bar and the bedplate. Moreover, since the support members are removably positionable on the boring bar they may be adjusted in position with respect to the particular housing to be bored. A boring head, concentrically mounted about the boring bar, is rotated about the housings as the boring bar is rotated and is translated along the length of the boring bar by way of a rotatable screw mechanism contained within the boring bar. The boring head is secured about the boring bar by a split ring whose free ends may be fastened by a threaded fastener. The boring bar may be supported intermediately by an intermediate support that includes a plurality of radially outwardly extending, adjustable fingers. The boring bar and its screw may be rotated at different rates through a single motor and a geared planetary drive mechanism.

    摘要: An improved fuel injector (10) having a needle valve (31) is mounted within a separate removable guide (26) for sliding movement between seated and unseated positions on a valve seat (18). Fuel injector (10) is adapted for operation in a primary fluid control mode (FIG. 5) under the influence of pressurized control fluid in a fluid chamber (30) adjacent the outer end of the needle valve (31), and for alternate operation in a secondary mechanical control mode (FIG. 6) under a mechanical mode spring (96) in the event of a decrease in operating fluid control pressure of the pressurized control fluid below a predetermined minimal amount. Continuous operation of the fuel injector (10) in the alternate operation under the mechanical spring (96) mode is automatic upon the reaching of a predetermined minimum pressure in the operating control fluid. A shutdown system is illustrated in FIG. 7 which overrides both the primary fluid control mode of operation and the secondary mechanical spring mode of operation to hold the needle valve (31) in seated position on its seat ( 18) under a fluid control pressure when certain engine conditions outside safe operating ranges are sensed. A microprocessor (98) receives input signals from sensors (98A-98H) for sensing various predetermined operating parameters of the engine and provides an output signal to a pressure regulator for controlling the pressure in the control fluid in response to the sensors (98A-98H).

    摘要: An automated fuel injection system for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine in which an engine digital control (EDG) receives input signals from several monitoring subsystems A-G (FIG. 4) each of which monitors a predetermined area of engine operation. The engine digital control (EDG) formulates appropriate output signals in response to the monitoring subsystems for sending by microprocessor (78) to fuel injectors (10) for control of pressurized fuel injected in the associated cylinders. Pressurized fuel is supplied by a non-engine driven pump (72) when the engine is stopped to the recirculation of fuel through the fuel injectors (10) and an engine driven pump (116) is provided to supply pressurized fuel during continuous engine operation. A pressurized magnetic control fluid is supplied by a non-engine driven pump (98) when the engine is stopped and supplied by an engine driven pump 122 during continuous operation of the engine. The fuel injector (10) has a fuel injection valve (50) and a fuel injection control valve (38) to control the flow of pressurized fuel to discharge orifices (20). Electronically controlled fluid pressure regulators (76, 118) for the pressurized fuel and electronically controlled fluid pressure regulators (112) for the magnetic control fluid are actuated by output signals from the microprocessor (78). Magnetic coils (63, 64) for valves (38, 50) are also electronically controlled by output signals from microprocessor (78) of the engine digital control (EDG).
