    摘要： A method (54) utilizing a computing system (30) for managing implementation of a process (34) enables selection of a procedure (58) that includes hierarchically ordered events (68), each representing a portion of the process (34). Each event (68) has a set (76) of associated event outcomes (62), each being linked to another event (68) within the procedure (58). The method (54) obtains at least one event object (60) associated with a first event (68) and instantiates the event object (60) to present the first event (68) and the set (76) of event outcomes (62) to a user (24). A user input (138) is received at the computing system (30) that includes one of the event outcomes (62) indicating completion of the first event (68). The method (54) proceeds to another event (68) within the procedure (58) to implement the process (34) in response to the one event outcome (62).

    摘要： Mass spectrometric techniques are provided for detecting the presence of parasites that accumulate unbound heme in red blood cells (including malaria parasites), based on the discovery that unbound heme can be detected and quantified using mass spectrometry. In one aspect of the invention, the method includes the steps of: obtaining a blood sample from the animal; preparing a test sample on a support from the blood sample, and inserting the support into a mass spectrometer for analysis. Next one obtains a mass spectrum of the test sample and determines whether the mass spectrum contains a mass/charge signature of unbound heme. If it is determined that the mass spectrum of the test sample shows the mass/charge signature of unbound heme, the animal is diagnosed as infected with malaria parasites.

    摘要： A louver assembly and a method for installing the louver assembly into an opening in a wall of a structure are provided wherein the louver includes a frame which and a separate louver section which may be mounted within the frame after the frame has been mounted in the opening in the wall. The frame defines a central channel which extends from an interior opening to an exterior opening. The frame includes a frame flange extending from an exterior edge of the central channel so that, when the frame is in a desired position within the hole in the wall, the frame flange extends around the entire perimeter of the hole to seal the perimeter of the hole. The louver section is selectively mountable within the central channel so that it is prevented from passing through the exterior opening. When the louver section is in a desired position within the central channel, the frame is sealed so that air is prevented from passing between the frame and an outer surface of the louver section.
