摘要: A friction material exhibiting a great coefficient of friction, as compared to that of the conventional friction material, which is produced with the use of an organic paper-like substrate. The friction material is composed of the paper-like substrate of a fibrous material, and an inorganic binder with which said substrate is impregnated. When friction is produced, the inorganic binder exhibits friction characteristics so that a great coefficient of friction can be effected, as compared to the cases organic binders such as phenol resin are used.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for evaluating a liquid repellent film on parts subjected to liquid repellent treatment, particularly to a method for evaluating the quality of a liquid repellent film comprising a substance absorbing or emitting electromagnetic waves, wherein the transmittance or reflectance ratio of electromagnetic waves, or fluorescence intensity is measured, and the characteristics of the liquid repellent film is evaluated from the graph of the relationship between a film thickness and a contact angle with a liquid having been determined in advance.

摘要: Disclosed is a dichroic crystal including at least one member selected from the group consisting of phtharocyanine, a phtharocyanine derivative, phtharocyanine with a central metal introduced therein, a phtharocyanine derivative with a central metal introduced therein, and iodine. It is precipitated when the iodine is added to a solution containing the member, and it includes the iodine in a form of I.sub.3.sup.- and I.sub.5.sup.- ions. It not only has a high dichroic property but also superb heat resistance and weatherability, so that it is applicable to suspended particles display devices used in severe environments.

摘要: A fuel injector inhibiting adhesion of deposits and simultaneously improving durability by a simple configuration is provided.A fuel injector having a valve body provided with a main space receiving fuel and an injection hole and a needle movably supported at the valve body and having a seal part at its front end, in which needle the movement causes the seal part to separate from or contact an inner surface of the valve body and thereby open or close a fuel passage communicating the main space and the injection hole of the valve body, the fuel injector characterized in that the injection hole of the valve body is covered by an injection hole coating comprised of a material with a lower adsorption and reactivity with oxygen compared with the material of the valve body itself, and the seal part of the needle is covered by a seal part coating comprised of a material higher in liquid-repellency compared with the material of the needle itself and not forming a metal surface. Preferably, the material of the injection hole coating is gold and the material of the seal part coating is a silica-based coating material.

摘要: A method for determining a cation which is stable to oxygen radical. Specifically, a lithium air cell which includes at least an air electrode, a negative electrode and a non-aqueous electrolyte that is interposed between the air electrode and the negative electrode. The lithium air cell is characterized in that the nonaqueous electrolyte contains an ionic liquid that does not contain atoms having a positive charge larger than that of a hydrogen atom and is composed of cations, which have an average of the charges carried by atoms other that hydrogen atoms of 0 or less, and counter anions of the cations.
