Abstract:
Compositions including a plurality of reactive components. The reactive components each include an inorganic core with one or more photoresponsive ligand(s) covalently bonded to a surface of the inorganic core. A composition may also include a photoinitiator. Methods of making an article of manufacture includes photochemically reacting at least a portion of one or more layer(s) formed from one or more composition(s). The photochemical reaction may be carried using a laser as a source of electromagnetic radiation. An article of manufacture, which may be a three-dimensional article of manufacture, may be or is a part of a microfluidic device, HPLC column, fluidic channel, point of care device, or diagnostics device.
Abstract:
Provided are spatially-annealed nanoparticle films. The films have one or more discrete regions that exhibit size-dependent properties. Also provided are methods of making the spatially-annealed nanoparticle films. The films can be used in, for example, light emitting applications (e.g., in light emitting diodes).
Abstract:
Methods of nanomanufacturing based on continuous additive nanomanufacturing at fluid interfaces (CANFI). This approach is a fabrication technique that involves, for example, photocuring or “printing” self-assembled layers. CANFI presents a fabrication capability with significant transformative potential improve (i) the spatial resolution, (ii) the speed, and (iii) the range of material compositions that can be printed. Various articles of manufacture can be made using the methods.
Abstract:
A methodology for synthesizing a nanoparticle batch, such as but not limited to a metal chalcogenide nanoparticle batch and further such as but not limited to a metal sulfide nanoparticle batch is predicated upon an expectation and observation that at elevated concentrations of at least one reactant material within a heat-up nanoparticle batch synthesis method, the resulting nucleated batch comprises nanoparticles that may be dimensionally focused to provide a substantially monodisperse nanoparticle batch. The embodied methodology is also applicable to a continuous reactor. The embodied methodology also considers viscosity as a dimensionally focusing result effective variable.
Abstract:
Methods for fabricating a nanowire composite, and a resulting article that includes the nanowire composite, are all adaptable to roll-to-roll processing by using a flexible substrate including a group IV nanowire growth surface, and locating and forming a group IV nanowire material layer upon the group IV nanowire growth surface. Under particular conditions of processing, group IV nanowire material layer nanowires may be located and formed perpendicular to a plane of the flexible substrate. Exemplary roll-to-roll processing apparatus are also considered.
Abstract:
Provided are compositions that may be referred to as photoreactive compositions or inks. The compositions may have a plurality of reactive components, which are silica nanocages with one or more photoreactive ligand(s). Also provided are methods of making an article of manufacture. Also provided are articles of manufacture and uses thereof. The article of manufacture may be formed from a composition of the present disclosure.
