Abstract:
There is disclosed a moisture curable sealant system, comprising a prepolymer that is a reaction product of an isocyanate component that includes at least one polyisocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive component that includes at least a polyoxybutylene polyoxypropylene polyol, the polyol having a functionality from 1.6 to 3.5 and a number average molecular weight from 1500 to 8000 wherein the polyoxybutylene polyoxypropylene polyol contains 50 to 85 percent by weight of polyoxybutylene.
Abstract:
Syntactic polyurethane elastomers are made using a non-mercury catalyst. The elastomer is made from a reaction mixture containing a polymer polyol which has a liquid polyether polyol as a continuous phase and polymer particles dispersed in the liquid polyether polyol, a chain extender, a polyisocyanate and microspheres. The elastomer adheres well to itself, which makes it very useful as thermal insulation for pipelines and other structures that have a complex geometry.

Abstract:
Moisture-curable polysilylated polyether compositions contain titanium (IV) catalysts and/or zinc/amidine catalyst mixtures and are devoid of or nearly devoid of tin compounds. The titanium catalysts and zinc/amide catalyst mixtures are surprisingly found to be highly effective, even when the moisture-curable silane groups of the compositions are dialkoxysilyl groups. The moisture-cured compositions are surprisingly stable when aged at high temperatures. In addition, the compositions are surprisingly storage-stable in the uncured state, particularly when the polysilylated polyethers contain aliphatic urethane groups. The polyether compositions are also preferably devoid of aminosilane adhesion promoters.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to low cathodic disbondment coating compositions, more particularly, to polyurethane compositions including a butylene oxide based polyol composition that can be utilized to form polyurethane coatings having low cathodic disbondment. As an example, a low cathodic disbondment coating compositions can be formed from a polyurethane composition including a polyol composition that includes a butylene oxide based polyol composition, where the polyol composition has an average hydroxyl functionality from 2 to 8 and a hydroxyl equivalent weight from 150 to 4000, where the butylene oxide based polyol composition is from 10 weight percent to 100 weight percent of a total weight of the polyol composition and has an average hydroxyl functionality from 2 to 3, and a polyisocyanate composition, where the polyurethane composition has an isocyanate index in a range from 70 to 120.
Abstract:
Syntactic polyurethane elastomers are made using a non-mercury catalyst. The elastomer is made from a reaction mixture containing a polyether polyol, a chain extender, a polyisocyanate and microspheres. The elastomer is characterized morphologically by the presence of small discrete morphological domains 0.1 to 3 μm in diameter, and the substantial absence of discrete morphological domains 5 to 30 μm in diameter. The elastomer adheres well to itself, which makes it very useful as thermal insulation for pipelines and other structures that have a complex geometry.

Abstract:
Polyurethane systems that cure similarly to systems based on mercury catalysts contain 1,4-butanediol and a zinc carboxylate catalyst. These systems cure and develop green strength similarly to systems based on mercury catalysts. These systems are especially useful in making insulated pipe joints for subsea pipeline installations.
