    摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed whereby the context of user activity can be used to tailor the ambient information system. The method and apparatus use both short-term context such as recent activity and long-term context such as historical patterns to highlight specific content on channels or widgets that are likely to be of most immediate interest to the user. This contextual information provided by the framework can also be used to make intelligent decisions about how to tailor the user experience after a user has interacted with the item in question. Additionally, context information accumulated on one device such as a mobile phone can be broadcasted to other devices to influence the ambient information display application on a second device such as a desktop based on enabling remote access to the local context repository.

    摘要: A drive circuit for delivering high-level power to a load, and method of stopping a high power load from operating, are disclosed. The drive circuit includes a high power circuit capable of being coupled to the load and delivering the high level power thereto, and a low power circuit that controls the high power circuit. The low power circuit includes a first circuit portion that provides at least one control signal that is at least indirectly communicated to the high power circuit and that controls the delivering of the high level power by the high power circuit, and a second circuit portions coupled to the first circuit portion. The second circuit portion is capable of disabling the first circuit portion so that the at least one control signal avoids taking on values that would result in the high power circuit delivering the high level power to the load.

    摘要: A format programmable hardware packetizer (110) receives real-time raw input data (125) from a multimedia data source (103) via an analog to digital converter (105) and a data encoder (120) gated by encoder interrupts (127). The real-time raw input data is buffered in an internal byte collector of the packetizer (110). A main CPU interrupt (117) is issued to the main processor (130) when a packet boundary code is received. The packetizer (110) formats the data according to a desired format selected on line (115) for dump to the main memory (140) while providing a managed, much lower level of interrupts to the main processor (130) on the CPU interrupt line (117). A plurality of hardware packetizers (110) can be deployed according to alternative constructions for efficient real time packetizing in various selected formats.

    摘要: A privately addressed home network bridge is provided for each of two privately addressed home networks. These bridges couple to corresponding gateways for each of the networks. A network tunnel connection is established between the two bridges via the gateways and an intervening publicly addressed network. At least one, and preferably both, of the home network bridges then serve as a proxy/router to facilitate an exchange of messages as between network devices of the two privately addressed home networks. Pursuant to a preferred approach the home network bridges use a mapping technique to correlate private addresses as used in the two privately addressed networks.
