    摘要: In one example, a backup intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) device includes one or more network interfaces to receive a state update message from a primary IDP device, wherein the state update message indicates a network session being inspected by the primary IDP device and an identified application-layer protocol for the device, to receive an indication that the primary device has switched over or failed over to the backup device, and to receive a plurality of packets of the network session after receiving the indication, each of the plurality of packets comprising a respective payload including application-layer data, a protocol decoder to detect a beginning of a new transaction from the application-layer data of one of the plurality of packets, and a control unit to statefully process only the application-layer data of the network session that include and follow the beginning of the new transaction.

    摘要: A method for making substrates is disclosed. The method comprises providing a rod, which is made out of a substrate material and has an outside diameter substantially the same size as the outside diameter of a finished substrate and an inside diameter substantially the same size as the inside diameter of the finished substrate. The rod is cut with a multi-wire cutter to make a substrate slice substantially the same size as a finished substrate. The multi-wire cutter has wires positioned to substantially match the final thickness of the finished substrate. Additionally the cutting process is facilitated by using slurry and by providing a rocking motion between the rod and the wires of the multi-wire cutter so that the wires contact the rod in a rocking motion with respect to a normal to the center of the rod.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium having a substrate and a SiO2-containing magnetic layer comprising grains is disclosed. The magnetic layer has substantial SiO2 between the grains. This condition is achieved by sputter depositing the magnetic layer in a chamber containing a gas under vacuum. The gas contains substantially no oxygen. Such a gas is one into which no oxygen is intentionally introduced to create an oxygen-containing gas mixture but may contain a trace amount of oxygen molecules in an amount that are present in air under a similar vacuum as that of the gas in the chamber.
