摘要: Diesel fuel compositions are provided that have unexpectedly beneficial cold flow properties. Methods for forming such diesel fuel compositions are also provided. The improved cold flow properties are achieved in part based on dewaxing of a distillate fraction of the composition. The improved cold flow properties are achieved further in part based on inclusion of a cold flow additive and fatty acid alkyl ester in the composition, such as fatty acid methyl ester.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a fuel additive comprising a mixture of (a) one or more fatty acid sorbitan esters and (b) one or more fatty acid monoesters of a polyol, wherein the one or more fatty acid sorbitan esters are present in an amount of about 0.05 wt. % to about 50 wt. %, based on the weight of the fuel additive, and the one or more fatty acid monoesters of a polyol are present in an amount of about 99.95 wt. % to about 50 wt. %, based on the weight of the fuel additive. Also disclosed is a fuel composition comprising a major amount of a fuel and minor amount of the fuel additive.

摘要: The present application provides a composition comprising 8-30 mass % of C4-12 linear alkanes, 5-50 mass % of C4-12 branched alkanes, 25-60 mass % of C5-12 cycloalkanes, 1-25 mass of C6-12 aromatic hydrocarbons, no more than 1 mass% of alkenes, and no more than 0.5 mass % in total of oxygen-containing compounds; wherein the total amount of C4-12 alkanes is 40-80 mass %, and the total amount of C4-12 alkanes, C5-12 cycloalkanes and C6-12 aromatic hydrocarbons is at least 95 mass %; and wherein the amounts are based on the mass of the composition. Also described is a method for producing the composition comprising the step of hydroprocessing a biological feedstock using a catalyst and the step of fractionating the product of the hydroprocessing step.

摘要: Biological source oils, including, but not limited to, algae oil, stabilize the presence of asphaltenes in petroleum feedstocks, such as crude oil, to help avoid or prevent fouling and/or corrosion in the production, transferring and processing of the petroleum feedstocks. Chemical additives such as phenol-based resins, and reaction products or combinations of long chain alpha-olefins and/or small chain aldehydes and/or long chain alkyl phenate sulfides and/or metal oxide-based colloidal hydrocarbon-based nanodispersions, may also stabilize the presence of asphaltenes in petroleum feedstocks. By “stabilizing” is meant keeping the asphaltenes in solution in the petroleum feedstocks.

摘要: A formulation and methods for making high energy organic fuels that incorporate suspended metal particles with metal particle sized ranging from 33 nm to 5 micron. The hybrid organic fuels contain superior density and/or energy content to conventional liquid organic fuels. These hybrid organic fuels used in combination with metal particle afford fuels with 5 to 80% more net heat of combustion (based on volume). These fuels should extend the distant range for jets, liquid rocket engines, SCRAM jet engines, and improve energy content in fuel-air explosive applications such as fuel-air explosives and in the Multi-Effects Weapons System (MEWS) where the fuel is used both for propulsion and explosive effects.

摘要: An aviation gasoline composition comprising an impure iso-octane fraction, at least one xylene and at least one C4 or C5 alkane, wherein the impure iso-octane fraction in said composition is a fraction comprising at least 90 mol % iso-octane and having a final boiling point of at least 180° C. and is present in the composition in an amount in the range of from 30 to 80 vol. % based on the composition, the composition is substantially free of any lead compounds, the composition has a motor octane number of at least 94 and the composition has a final boiling point of at most 170° C. The composition of the present invention may be made by blending together an impure iso-octane fraction, xylene, at least one C4 or C5 alkane, optionally ethyl tertiary butyl ether, and optionally methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl and may be used in a spark ignition aviation engine, either alone or in combination with methanol or a methanol and water mixture.
