    摘要: Magnetizable composite microspheres comprising a core of a magnetizable filler distributed uniformly in a network of a polysilsesquioxane SiVi containing double bonds and a shell of a crosslinked organosilicon polymer derived from the hydrosilylation of an organohydrogenopolysiloxane SiH with the ethylenically unsaturated groups of the polysilsesquioxane. The magnetizable composite microspheres are obtained by dispersing an aqueous suspension of a magnetizable filler, not coated with a dispersing agent, in a solvent, dissolving an alkoxysilane or an alkoxysiloxane containing double bonds, polycondensing to a SiVi group-containing polysilsesquioxane SiVi, removing water, dissolving the organohydrogenopolysiloxane SiH polymer in the organic phase, crosslinking the mixture of polymers, removing water, separating the microspheres and, if appropriate, redispersing the microspheres in water. The magnetizable composite microspheres are preferably used as an active supports in biology.

    摘要: Anion-binding polymers are described. The anion-binding polymers in some cases are low swelling anion-binding polymers. In some cases, the anion-binding polymers have a pore volume distribution such that a fraction of the polymer is not available for non-interacting solutes above a certain percentage of the MW of the target ion for the polymer. In some cases, the anion-binding polymers are characterized by low ion-binding interference, where the interference is measured in, for example, a gastrointestinal simulant, relative to non-interfering buffer. Pharmaceutical composition, methods of use, and kits are also described.

In particular, the invention provides compositions comprising sodium-binding polymers and pharmaceutical compositions thereof. Examples of these methods include the treatment of hypertension, chronic heart failure, end stage renal disease, liver cirrhosis, chronic renal insufficiency, fluid overload, or sodium overload.
