摘要: A method for marking an ophthalmic lens with a hydrophobic and/or oil-repellent low surface energy outer layer on a high surface energy substrate or coating. The method consists in: positioning a complementary patterning mask of the desired marking between the lens surface to be marked and an energizing discharge source capable of substantially eliminating the outer layer to as to expose the subjacent high energy substrate or coating. The temporary protective layer has a surface energy higher than that of the outer layer and a thickness less than about 5 nm, and preferably between 2 and 4 nm, thereby enabling the discharge to act on the outer layer through the temporary protective layer.

摘要: A method for treating an ophthalmic lens comprising two main sides, wherein at least one side comprises an organic or mineral external layer coated with a MgF2 temporary protective layer, said method comprising the specific treating step of depositing the MgF2 temporary protective layer on the external layer through vacuum evaporation at a speed lower than or equal to 0.5 nm/s. The lens obtained from the above method is capable of being submitted to a trimming operation within 48 hours after the ophthalmic lens has been treated, i.e. after the various layers have been deposited.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for treating an ophthalmic lens comprising two main sides the first one of which comprises a thin external organic or inorganic layer, comprising: at least one treatment step for the second lens side through energetic and/or reactive species capable to perform a surface physical attack and/or chemical modification, in option, at least one or more steps for depositing inorganic or organic layers carried out simultaneously or subsequently to the treatment step through said energetic and/or reactive species, characterized in that before the treatment step through energetic and/or reactive species, a deposition of a temporary protective layer is performed onto the thin external organic or inorganic layer. Application to ophthalmic optics.
