摘要:
An injury prevention system includes a plurality of pressure sensing assemblies configured to measure pressure exerted upon a plurality of subjects over time. Each of the pressure sensing assemblies in the plurality of pressure sensing assemblies includes a hardware controller and a pressure sensor array. The injury prevention system includes a management system including a plurality of system control units and a remote unit. The remote unit is remote from the plurality of system control units. Each of the hardware controllers are configured to transfer output signals from each of the pressure sensor arrays to one of the system control units. The remote unit is configured to communicate with the plurality of system control units to monitor the plurality of subjects for injury prevention.

A pressure wound prevention system operable to prompt at least one caregiver to reposition a subject at risk of developing a pressure wound. The system includes a pressure-detection surface comprising a plurality of pressure sensors configured to monitor pressure exerted upon the pressure-detection surface by the subject as well as orientation sensors configured to monitor an angle of the pressure-detection surface. A processor is operable to interpret and analyze data from the sensors and to provide indications to a caregiver when the subject requires repositioning.

A computer system for identifying a posture adopted by a subject is disclosed. The computer system includes a computer processor that is configured to execute the following functions: obtain a set of reference pressure images, each of the reference pressure images associated with a known posture; obtain a recorded pressure image of the subject; compare the recorded pressure image of the subject with a candidate pressure image from the set of reference pressure images; and repeat the comparing function until the recorded pressure image with the candidate pressure image.

A resting body support, such as a mattress or an encasement for a resting body support, comprising a sensor layer is disclosed which may incorporate a mattress adjustment system. The system may comprise at least one pressure detection mat comprising a plurality of sensors arranged in a matrix and at least one processor configured to monitor a plurality of pressure values detected by each of said sensors; and at least one active mattress comprising a plurality of cells, the cells being controlled by an inflation control unit that is connected to said processor, and operable to individually adjust the level of inflation of said plurality of cells based on said plurality of pressure values.
摘要:
A system supporting subject risk analysis and risk event management for detecting possible risk indications and the risk of a subject developing pressure injuries. The system includes monitoring risk events using a pressure sensing apparatus and by recording pressure values at a plurality of pixels of a sensing mat to determine subject's pressure distribution and associated pressure image at any given time. The mapping of pressure sensing elements coordinates of the pressure sensing apparatus to a subject-based coordinate system using applicable transformation functions enables risk analysis and display of subject's pressure distribution maps representing gathered data at different times. Pressure images of the subject's pressure distributions helps in identifying postures adopted by a subject, determining risk of a subject developing pressure injuries and registering possible bed-exit and bed-fall risk events.

A flexible conductive material may be a selectively conductive textile fabricated by intertwining yarns having different affinities to conductive impregnation. Another flexible conductive material may be formed from an array of conductive elements connected via sinuous connecting wires embedded in a flexible host material. The regions having a high conductivity may serve as conductive electrodes, for example of a pressure sensing mat.
