    Abstract: A telematics device of a vehicle, comprising includes a temperature sensor to sense temperature of the telematics device; and a processor in communication with the temperature sensor. The processor is programmed to disable over-the-air software update functionality responsive to the temperature exceeding a first predefined threshold value, disable hotspot functionality responsive to the temperature exceeding a second predefined threshold value, and disable remote services functionality responsive to the temperature exceeding a third predefined threshold value.

    Abstract: A telematics control unit (TCU) receives a short message service (SMS) message from a phone number of a mobile device and identifies an updated network address of the mobile device from the message. The TCU sends the updated network address of the mobile device to a packet data network (PDN) server configured to route data traffic between the network address of the mobile device and the vehicle. The PDN server communicates over a data network with a telematics control unit (TCU) of a vehicle and maintains a list of identification numbers of mobile devices and corresponding network addresses of the mobile devices for the TCU. The PDN server receives an updated network address associated with an identification number of a mobile device from the TCU; and updates the list with the updated network address of the mobile device.

    Abstract: Delivering software updates is provided. An update server in communication with an Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) transmitter and with a cellular network broadcasts a probe message to a plurality of vehicles. The update server receives probe results from the plurality of vehicles, responsive to the broadcasting. The update server analyzes the probe results to determine software updates to send to the plurality of vehicles. The update server generates an aggregate common package including the software updates in common with at least a subset of the plurality of vehicles. The update server, sends using the ATSC transmitter, the aggregate common package to the plurality of vehicles. The update server sends, over the cellular network, any remaining portion of the software updates not included in the aggregate common package to the plurality of vehicles.
