    摘要: Flameproof moulding compositions, which are based on polyolefins and made from a pulverulent blend comprising a polyolefin as its essential ingredient and a plurality of flame-retardant ingredients. The flame-retardant ingredients comprise red phosphorus and at least one organic nitrogen compound which carbonizes after inflammation. The moulding compositions contain the flame-retardant ingredients in a total proportion of at most about 30 weight %. Red phosphorus and organic nitrogen compound are used in a quantitative ratio between 99:1 and 1:99.

    摘要: Antistatic properties are imparted to rubber by admixing it with conductive carbon black, vulcanizing the resulting blend and forming the rubber. More specifically, the rubber is admixed with about 5 to 40 weight % of conductive carbon black which has an AS-number of 15 to 35, a specific electric resistance of 10.sup.-1 up to 10.sup.-3 ohms .times. cm under a moulding pressure of 100 to 180 atmospheres absolute, a bulk density of 100 to 180 g/liter, a BET-surface area of 100 to 1000 m.sup.2 /g. The carbon black is made by a process wherein an aqueous suspension of carbon black with an AS-number higher than 15 and prepared by subjecting hydrocarbons, which are liquid at room temperature, to thermal conversion at 1200.degree. to 2000.degree. C, under pressures within the range 1 and 80 atmospheres absolute, and in the presence of oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas, and water scrubbing the resulting carbon-black-containing reaction gas, is intimately blended at 5.degree. to 120.degree. C, under pressures of 1 to 20 atmospheres absolute, in liquid phase at a pH-value of 7 to 10, and for 1 to 20 minutes, with vaporizable liquid aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbons, the carbon black is separated from liquid matter, then heated and thereby freed from hydrocarbons and water, and finally annealed for 20 to 30 minutes at 200.degree. C up to 2200.degree. C.

    摘要: Self-extinguishing laminates are made by an improved process, wherein individual layers of a carrier material are impregnated with a thermosetting phenolic resin containing a flame-retardant agent and the impregnated layers are placed one above another and bonded together by compressing them at elevated temperature and under elevated pressure to give a hardened laminate. More specifically, finely pulverulent phosphorus pentanitride as a flame-retarding agent is dispersed in the plasticized or non-plasticized thermosetting phenolic resin, with or without a diluent; the phenolic resin, based on its solid matter content, and the phosphorus pentanitride being used in an approximate ratio by weight of 100:4 to 100:15; and the phenolic resin, based on its solid matter content, and the carrier being used in an approximate ratio by weight of 100:80 to 100:150.

    摘要: Intumescent flame-retardant coating composition consisting substantially of a film-forming agent, an ammonium polyphosphate, one or more substances which are carbonizable under the action of heat, a dispersant, and optionally a filler. The coating composition additionally contains an ammonium polyphosphate activator weighing 0.5 to 50% of the weight of ammonium polyphosphate. The activator is constituted by at least one salt which contains water of crystallization which is liberated upon the composition being heated to about 35.degree. C.

    摘要: The invention provides stabilized pulverulent red phosphorus comprising a homogeneous blend of red phosphorus particles with a size of at most about 2 mm, aluminum hydroxide and a further metal hydroxide as oxidation stabilizers, wherein the metal hydroxide is lead hydroxide. The homogeneous blend contains aluminum hydroxide and lead hydroxide in a total proportion of about 0.1 to 6 weight %, based on the quantity of red phosphorus, the aluminum hydroxide and lead hydroxide, calculated as Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 to PbO, being used in a quantitative ratio of about 0.5 to 2.0.
