Abstract: A climate control system in a vehicle. The system comprises a first control module configured to: i) receive a first temperature measurement associated with a passenger compartment of a vehicle; ii) compare the first temperature measurement to a temperature set point value; and iii) in response to the comparison, determine a first error value associated with a difference between the first temperature measurement and the temperature set point. The system further comprises a temperature control module configured to receive the first error value and, in response, to adjust the light transmissivity of at least one window the vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicle part with at least one integrated photovoltaic element includes a part body, at least one area of a barrier layer disposed on at least a portion of the surface of the part body; and at least one photovoltaic element disposed over an area of the barrier layer. Paint covers the portions of the surface of the part body surrounding the photovoltaic elements. A method of making a vehicle part having at least one integrated photovoltaic element includes applying at least one area of a barrier layer on at least a portion of the surface of the part and applying at least one photovoltaic element over an area of the barrier layer. A protective layer is applied over the surface of the photovoltaic element, the surface of the part is painted, and the protective layer can then be removed to expose the photovoltaic element.

Abstract: An immersion cooling system for a battery system includes a battery enclosure and C metal-encased, pouch-type battery cells including C metal cases, C pouch-type battery cells arranged in the C metal cases, respectively, where C is an integer greater than one, and C vents on the C metal cases, respectively. A vent gas manifold is in fluid communication with the C vents of the C metal cases and is configured to remove vent gas passing through the C vents of the C metal cases from the battery enclosure.

Abstract: A radiant heating and blocking shade system for a sunroof of a vehicle includes a first roller configured to be mounted adjacent to one end of a sunroof of a vehicle. A second roller is mounted adjacent to the first roller between the first roller and the sunroof. A radiant heating shade is at least partially wound around the first roller. The radiant heating shade has a deployed position and a retracted position. A blocking shade is at least partially wound around the second roller. The blocking shade has a deployed position and a retracted position. The blocking shade is arranged parallel to and spaced from the radiant heating shade between the radiant heating shade and the sunroof when the blocking shade and the radiant heating shade are in the deployed position.

Abstract: A climate control system includes a memory, a compensation module, and a climate control module. The memory is configured to store images captured by one or more image sensors. The compensation module is configured to: based on the images, estimate a clothing level of a first occupant in an interior cabin of a vehicle or receive the clothing level from at least one of an edge computing device or a cloud-based network device; determine a first EHT setpoint; and determine a first resultant EHT based on the clothing level and the first EHT setpoint. The climate control module is configured to: determine a first EHT error based on the first resultant EHT and a cabin temperature setpoint; determine a control value based on the first EHT error; and set climate control parameters to control a temperature of a first zone within the interior cabin based on the control value.

A pressure valve member being operably mounted relative to the aperture of the housing that is configured to accommodate pack air volume changes and/or temperature changes in the housing volume.
